My husband has been all about the "things you don't say to pregnant women" lately. And normally he's SO good! Let's see...what has he said recently. He's lost a few pounds recently (he wasn't trying, and he's already naturally skinny at 6'2 and about 175 lbs) and I said something like...."soon I'm going to be fatter than you". And he said "You should start working out longer". I've been working out 4 times a week. I'm like....WTF. I'm going to be fatter because I'm PREGNANT YOU F-FACE. My preg-rage tends to kick in when he says things like that. Or the other day I say, "Man, it's so crazy how my belly just keeps getting bigger and bigger"....(just because it's weird to watch my body change like this, and I comment on it a lot) And him: "Maybe you should do some ab exercises". WTF.....pregnant women can't do ab exercises. My belly is SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING BIGGER. And here's my favorite one in recent memory. I read a thread on here that a lot of pregnant women think their butts get flatter. So I ask him, "Do you think my butt is actually flatter or does it just look flatter because my belly is getting bigger?" him: no, your butt is definitely bigger. me: bigger?? him: yeah, I guess to balance out the weight of your belly. The worst was the other day though. We've maybe talked badly about Kim Kardashian and how she's looking pregnant-- I know, it's really mean, and I shouldn't do it. But I had a cupcake, then a bowl of pineapple, the other night and commented on how random it was, and DH was like, Maybe that's what Kim Kardashian has been eating, too. I promptly started crying and yelling at him that it was NOT appropriate. Meanwhile, he keeps complaining about how much weight *he* has gained since I've been pregnant. A couple weeks ago I was showing him my tiny bump and said something like "don't you think it's starting to grow a little?" and he replied "oh yes, I suppose this part looks firmer but this other part *and squishes my belly* was there before, right?". This us what my husband said to me when I got home from work yesterday. I teach middle school. I am on my feet all day and teach in 90 degree weather without air conditioning. So, yesterday my ankles were the size of softballs. I was cranky and uncomfortable. Instead of offering some comfort or kind words, he decided to express his concern about me developing cankles. Grr.... Anyone else's SO say idiotic things from time to time?
