My husband took the bait out of the little plastic trap thing and put it on a thick paper plate and poured honey on top. The ants were not really going in the trap before but with it exposed and covered it honey there were hundreds of them and they ate it all up. I think you have to get the right kind is bait for the type of ants you have. If they are the tiny ones they are sugar ants and the honey bait trick will work. If they are large red ants then they are carpenter ants and it won't work. I had just moved my headphones from on top of my hard drive to my head, and I felt what I thought was a hair on my forehead, so I brushed it away. It was so big that it almost covered my wrist and its legs wrapped all the way around my wrist (like a bracelet). Actually just like a week ago we had a huge swam of them in our kitchen! We have 2 kittens, and rather than eat their dry food that we leave out for them, they insist on hitting it out of their dish and playing with it until it gets stuck under the fridge! Their home is outside, not inside! I found the most effective way to deal with tiny annoying ants was to pour chemicals (can't remember what I used, 409 maybe?) down the wee crack in the wood flooring they were coming out of, and then seal the area with clear nail polish. Have not seen a single ant inside my home since!!! Haha, they fear me!! ;-p </p>
