People keep warning me that, too, but I'm not sure it's actually going to be the suckfest they make it out to be! Most of my IRL friends were looking forward to going back to work! Focus on the good...having breakfast in peace, using the restroom, a little quiet time...plus your awesome 28 hour/week schedule!</p> <p>E was in the hospital for a week, too, and it does suck, but being away from them 24/7 for a week and not being able to take them home is different from being away from them just for a little bit. It'll make seeing him at the end of the day that much more enjoyable!</p> <p>I think this is mostly one of those situations where people hype it up to be a LOT worse than it really is! Don't let people get you down! :) I remember when I told people I was going back to work and putting LO in daycare and I got SOOOO many inappropriate comments. I'm going to be on a reduced schedule (28 hours/week) and my first month is jam packed. I'm glad, I think being really busy will make the days go quickly. I'm kind of excited to see some of my coworkers and I bought tons of shutterfly stuff for my desk. </p> <p>I know I'll miss him, he's my baby, of course ill miss him. He was in NICU for 8 days, I know what it's like to not be with him all the time. One of my best friends was convinced she would hate going back to work. She was planning to work a couple of months then quit. Turns out, she loves it! Her son is thriving at daycare, and she really enjoys her work/mommy balance. I wish I could bold that and use 1000 point font because going back to work doesn't have to be the horror that most everyone assumes it will be.</p> <p>I and lots of women love going back to work and find it makes our relationships with our children and partners and ourselves better, richer and more rewarding. </p> <p>In some ways, going back is what you make of it, like anything else in life. If you assume it will suck and you build it up in your mind so there's no way you won't hate it; guess what, you will likely hate it. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm trying SO hard to be positive. </p> <p>I love my son more than anything in this world and I know it's going to suck to leave him. I cry just thinking about it. I don't need everyone on God's green earth to tell me that it's going to suck. I was talking to my grandma and she stayed home with her kids but spent a solid 5 minutes telling me how horrible it was going to be. I nearly hung up on her. </p> <p>Why do people feel the need to go there?! </p>
