That way they can smoke (hopefully in peace and not all cramped and uncomfortably) and people who don't want the secondhand smoke exposure, like me, can stay away. I'm all about co-existing peacefully. </p> <p>But I do judge caregivers who smoke around children. That's just not fair. My mom's entire side of the family smoked around me, in the house, and in the car when I was a kid. It was awful.<br /> My mom smoked too, but at the request of my dad she wouldn't do it around me. I actually feel bad for smokers in general, it's so much more mental than physical. But to expose your children (or anyone's children) is pretty low and selfish. </p> <p>In my province it's illegal to smoke in indoor public plaves or in cars with minors. When I was nine, I went to my Nana's house to stay and when we walked in, her lips were blue and she was barely breathing. If we hadn't shown up when we did, she would have died. Ever since, I have hated smoking with a passion and I will never smoke. I don't want it around my kids. </p> <p>My mom smokes, but she always goes outside and wears a jacket so it's not on her clothes as much. My MIL smokes constantly inside and even around me when I visited at 16 weeks. It made me physically ill. It really really bothers me.</p> <p>Last summer I saw this extremely pregnant lady at a picnic and she was not only smoking, but she threw the butts on the playground floor. It is absolutely disgusting and I give people the death glare all of the time. Anytime we go out, especially to restaurants with a terrace, I always see parents lighting up around kids, which irritates me to no end. The mom was pushing a toddler and the grandmother was pushing a newborn, prob around 2 months old. They were both smoking. </p> <p>It bothered me bc not only were they smoking in front of their kids but in a very public place with lots of other babies and families. </p> <p>I totally judged. Would you have? </p>
