I don't like having to set things up, but I enjoy taking 15-20 minutes to close my office door and take a break. In the early days, I looked at pictures of LO, and it was nice because I felt like I was connecting with him from afar. Now that he's older, I chat with my husband or do something relaxing. </p> <p>If I didn't have an office, I would probably like pumping a lot less! The nurse's office here has designated pumping rooms that are actually quite nice - it's just a hassle to drag everything back and forth and set it up. We have a designated pumping room here, but it's kind of a joke. It's a small conference room with the door window covered and it locks, but there is no sink which makes it kind of pointless IMO since you have to bring all of your pump parts into the bathroom anyway and clean them in front of everyone! Also, people ignore the sign on the outside and go in there to eat lunch anyway. I store everything in a cooler bag with ice packs all day and then throw everything in the dishwasher once I get home. I have two sets of bottles and parts, so I just run the dishwasher every other day. SO much easier and faster than cleaning everything each time!</p> <p>It's so nice to hear such inspiring ideas from all of you - thank you!!! I just started back at work yesterday after Mat leave and pumping at work is SO weird when you work in a school. There are NO "private rooms" except bathrooms, since every door can be opened with a key that lots of people have (principals, team leads, tech guys, janitors). I have to pump in a small room that doubles as professional library room, but there's a table so people also have meetings in there. So everyone and their dog has a key. So I'm SO PARANOID of a teacher giving a student a key to go get them something from a room and I have nightmares of a middle schooler or janitor or tech guy walking in on my pumping.</p> <p>Also, there's no sink or fridge, so I have to get dressed....take all my stuff down to the staff break room to rinse and store in the fridge their.</p> <p>I was dreading pumping at work, and now I see my dread was warranted.
