I just didn't want to ruin a good thing. I pumped into a bottle. So I never really had that nursing experience. I wasn't quite ready to wean, but at 15 months E got sick and was so congested that he couldn't hold a latch. I wasn't pumping, and though he tried again once or twice my already dwindling supply bottomed out. </p> <p>Overall I'm glad it ended the way it did...maybe not by his choice, exactly, but also not because I forced it. And I have a great memory of our last real session. </p> <p>But he's not been sleeping the past two nights. I think I got *maybe* 3 hours of sleep in a row last night, after about 5 hours of being woken up every 15-20 minutes. I tried cuddling with him on the futon again, like I did for a few hours night before last, but he wasn't having it last night. I just kept thinking that if I could nurse him he'd totally zonk out with him so I could sleep, lol. </p> <p>Then I read the thread today about what your LO calls breastfeeding, and I got a little sad because he didn't nurse long enough to have a word for it (he's not an early talker). </p> <p>Sigh, sorry, just really tired and nostalgic! </p> <p>When did your LO wean? Your choice or theirs? Did you miss it afterwards? </p>
