I have a swimava reusable diaper.
I haven't been in a bathing suit in YEARS! DH usually jumps in the pool with LO :)

I love the Applecheeks swim diapers. As a lifeguard for 10 years, I can tell you that the disposable ones do not contain poop as well as you'd like.

I dress my girls in a long sleeved rash guard and a matching swim diaper, but they would have shorts too if they were boys :) I like the rash guards because they can get cold easily when they are so little.

Also, the chlorine kills the pee in 4 seconds, no joke. So it's not too gross (but still a bit).

I recently got the reuseable kind. I put her in the Huggies swim diaper(see my comment above) and she completely broke out. I got hers off Amazon.

I got several speedo style cloth swim diapers at our swim school and through Buy Buy Baby. Using disposables every week is just too expensive for us. I put them on him just before class starts.

Just saw this on Baby Steals: http://babysteals.stealnetwork.com/

Have a good time! Swim lessons are so much fun!

If your swim lessons are at a public pool you will most likely be required to use some type of swim diaper (either disposable or reusable). We used the Huggies Little Swimmers and had no problems.

Something to keep in mind: swim diapers are designed to not absorb liquid therefore it is best to wait until you are at the pool to put your LO in the swim diaper otherwise if they pee while in transit you could have a wet car seat.

We use disposable ones too, the Huggies ones. For swim lessons at the pool, we just use that. Less laundry!

You definitely need a swim diaper. We use "Little Swimmers" by Huggies. I normally put the LO in a rash guard top and then some kind of swim bottoms - with the diaper underneath. Good luck and have fun!!

The good: LO will be learning how to swim
The bad: I have to wear a bathing suit for the first time in ~5 years.

So LO is starting baby swim lessons next weekend (sidenote: back-to-back toddler swim classes in this pool... can you imagine how much urine is going to be in that water?)

He has little swim trunks with the underwear-ish lining, but I feel like if he poops, it is not gonna catch it all, so I 'm guessing we need a separate swim diaper. Can anyone recommend one?

It's indoor, so I figured he could just wear a swim diaper and little trunks over them. Or just the diaper? Do I need a rashguard? Anything else?

What did your LO wear for swim lessons?
