We had a very hard time until he fit in 12 month pants (at nearly 2 years). Old navy 3-6 are definitely on the longer side and when you buy skinny they don't look as silly when they're a little short. Adjustable waist never worked for us because they look ridiculously baggy. We just buy skinny jeans.

Agree with osh kosh skinny jeans! Gap skiny jeans didn't work til my lo was 15 months or so, and he wore 12-18 at that point. At 26 months now he wears the gap skinnies in 18-24 month (boys 2t is waaay too wide and big) OR girls 2t legging jeans.

My skinny minnie wears tea skinny pants with pretty good success. We bring in the elastic as tight as it will go and they stay up.

Old navy leggings are long and lean, my daughter was always in the 50-60% for height but 5% for weight, and they actually stayed on. I'm not sure for boys though, I always found Gap to run wide, she could never wear their pants (even with the adjustable waist)

Carter's worked well for us too since they tend to run small.

The only ones that work for us now are the Gap or Old Navy that have the inserts that are adjustable. I don't think they start until 12 months, and only certain pants. Mostly commenting to see if anyone has better suggestions!

This is probably not helpful, but the big US brands haven't worked too well for my skinny minnie! Old Navy falls right off, as does Gap. Oh, also H&M is no good. Carter's has sometimes worked for us and European brands (other than H&M) tend to have a smaller cut.

Not cheap, but J.Crew.

Adding - Crewcuts is long and narrow in general, but their Cozy Leggings are really narrow at the waist so you might be able to get away with going up to 6-12 if not now, then soon.

LO is just over 7 month now, and since winter hit he's pretty much been stuck wearing sleepers. I would love to vary his wardrobe, and add more "going out" type of outfits, but I can't find pants that fit him. He's in the 15% for weight and the 93% for height. He fits into 3-6 month pants, but only with a cloth diaper. If he's in a disposable, the 3-6 month fall right off. Some 3-6 pants are just OK in terms of length, but most look like capris on him...

Has anyone else had any better luck finding pants for their skinny but long baby?
