@coopsmama: we live in eastern Oregon so I feel your pain of having to fly out of little airports! What about Hawaii? Sometimes you can find good packages on Groupon-type sites. My friend also just did a Hawaiian vacay package through Costco that she said was awesome.

I also second @Mrs. Taco, Arizona can be awesome. San Diego is great, too!

We went to San Diego a couple years ago in February for our babymoon and loved it! So much fun. We stayed for 5 nights, but I could see you doing a long weekend instead. The zoo was pricey but totally worth it if you spend a whole day there. So many good restaurants to choose from and lots of different neighborhoods to explore. The weather was perfect in Feb - high 60's to 70's, low humidity. We did a LOT of walking, but I was about 22 weeks and felt amazing at that point so it was okay.

What about San Francisco? It would be a cheap quick flight from where you are. There's tons of things to do, and tons of really good food. It would be a pretty pregnant friendly place to go. There's good shopping and you could rent a car and head out to Sonoma or Napa Valley for a day. My husband and I went a few years ago ( he proposed on that trip ) and it was a really good time.
Hawaii would be warmer, but might be a bit of a long flight if you're just going for a long weekend.

@coopsmama: What about AZ? Like Sedona or Scottsdale? Never been but I hear their spas/outdoor activities/restaurant are awesome.

FWIW...I went on a cruise in the early stages of my pregnancy and it was not fun. I was sick and the boat only increased that. We cruise a ton (live in FL so don't have to fly to sail) but if I had $2k and was already flying, I would totally do something else.

Hawaii is pretty easy to get to from the west coast and is wonderful all year. My vacation there was super relaxing (for me, DH was there for work  )

@coopsmama: Have you been to CA? Lots to see and do in the LA area. Weather's really nice right now too.

Or Vegas? I don't like spending more than 2 nights there. :D

@yoursilverlining: @chopsuey: We would be flying out of Spokane, WA which is kind of a bummer! I guess I should have included that info in my first post :)

Our interests are extremely wide -- I could see us enjoying a lot! We love beaches, good food, good drinks (well for hubs anyway!), sightseeing/exploring, amusement parks, shopping, and are mostly just looking to relax (2 babies in 13 months is draining hehe) and enjoy each other!

@brownie: thanks for the ideas! Adding to our list!

Universal studios in Florida or Disney world/land can be fun as adults (and next month is a slow time). So cal in general with attractions, piers, museums etc.

I was recently gifted a nice sum of money and while most of it will be going towards investments -- I've decided I want to put $2-2.5k towards a short vacation for DH and I. This will be our first vacation together as we never went on a honeymoon so I want it to be special and memorable. It will also be our first time away for LO and will serve as a babymoon, too, as I'm due in July with #2.

So.... ideas?? We're hoping to go next month over a weekend, think Thursday-Monday. We're willing to fly. At this point our only idea is a weekend cruise with Royal Caribbean but wanting several fun options on the table before we decide! TIA!
