@MrsADS: You can take it back, and it doesn't have to be in the box! I would also recommend the Fisher Price swing - I always had to keep it on the lowest setting because the others were crazy fast!

I thought the fisher price snug-a-puppy we had swung fairly fast. It also can go back and forth or side to side which is nice.

I might try the FP swing.

Does anyone know, if you buy something like a swing from Target/Babies R Us/etc., take it home, put it together, try it, can you take it back? Or does it have to still be in the box? I hate to spend a bunch of $$, but if I can take it back if LO hates it... I might.

We also used the snuggabunny and it worked great starting around that age.

@sapphire: That is funny, my LO was the opposite! She hated the side to side but once we figure out that we could switch it to the front and back mode, it worked like a charm.

We also had a snuggabunny for LO2 and it did the trick. It looks similar to what you posted, but I'm not sure what the speed difference might be between them.

Agree with the Snuggabunny. At that age, it put LO to sleep very quickly. I think the side to side swings work better than the front to back.

DD is the same. We have the Fisher Price swing (bought used off a FB group) and an old school bouncer. We put vibrate on and bounce it with our feet also.

We had the fisher price snugabunny swing, and it seemed go pretty fast on the highest setting. It almost looked like it would catapult him out of it, but he liked it that fast. We had to push the swing to get it going, but then the motor would keep it going. It's a more expensive swing, but I see them on craigslist or facebook resale groups all the time.

I never found a really fast swing. My lo loooved to be swung fast by us so we used the bouncer a lot. We bounced it with our feet and turned on vibrate. That seemed to suffice sometimes when we couldn't swing her anymore. :)

Help. My baby (5 weeks) will not go to sleep without very fast, vigorous rocking/bouncing! I don't mind doing it but he's getting heavy (10 lbs) and it's exhausting doing it for 45 minutes in the middle of the night.

I think in theory he would like a swing. We borrowed this swing from a friend (Ingenuity Inlighten Cradling Swing):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FNJ7GT6/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687702&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00KHR7OUA&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0BEXD34MVPWG0DQZ8V6R

(or a version of it, anyway) and even on the fastest setting it's way too slow. Anyone have a swing that goes REALLY FAST that you would recommend? Bonus if it is not too $$$.
