But really, even though I swore I would never do it, I just had to let her CIO (we had tried pretty much everything else). I knew she was ready to sleep on her own (sometimes the way she slept with me made me feel like I might have been disruptive to her sleep as much as she was disruptive to mine), but I just had to test it out to see what happened. The first night I did checks at 5, 10, and 15 minutes, and she has not cried longer than 30 minutes combined (and it wasn't all out screaming like I imagined, with small breaks in between fusses and cries). When I saw how well she slept, I knew it could work. </p> <p>I haven't conquered naps yet (although she sleeps on her own for her naps with my MIL, so I know it's possible), but we're getting there. </p>
