But she was waking up anywhere between 4:30 and 5:30. We finally decided that if she cried before 5, we would let her cry and try to get her back down. Anything before that was just too early. I never try to get her back down. Once in a while she will go through an early wake up phase, like 5:30, and I just start playing with her. I think it will make for a more pleasant morning, as you say. Even though my LO is only 17 weeks, her longest ever stretch of sleep was 4.5 hours. She had just started to average 2 3.5-4 hour stretches each night (hallelujah!) until she hit a sleep regression last week. I keep reminding myself that it won't last forever, and that I will miss it when she is older. He wasn't going back to sleep and was gonna wake up his sister, so I went in there and told him it was Quiet Time and that he should just do puzzles quietly.</p> <p>That did not go over very well, as he desperately wanted to leave his room. It took over an hour to get him to read quietly on his own in his room. Then after that, he decided he wanted to get dressed, and he picked out a full outfit (socks, pants, shirt and even a jacket) and put it all on (with a little help). At that point it was 7 or so, so I declared quiet time over and made him breakfast.</p> <p>I guess I was really fighting the idea that he was up so early. Charlie wakes up at 5 am again, I'm just going to accept it and start the day early. I fought it like crazy today and it ruined my morning.</p> <p>Do you ever struggle with accepting that your LO is waking up early? </p>
