I agree it's probably a sprain and they won't do anything. I sprain my ankle at least once a year.

I've sprained my ankle so many times to the point I could barely walk on it--they just splint it and tell me to ice it, give me ibuprofen, and that's that. Unless it's actually broken, not sure there is much they can do, so I would probably wait it out. Otherwise you know they'll x-ray you and everything and that's expensive. If it still hurts in a week? yeah then it's probably time to go ask about an x-ray and crutches maybe

I'm cheap so I would probably wait. If it doesn't hurt when you aren't using it and only hurts to walk on, I'd probably spend a week trying to stay off of it, wrap it tight, and ice it. If is getting better its prob no big thing. If it is still hurting or getting worse I'd go in. But-- thats just what I would do

Go in!! Ice is so scary and can be so damaging! My MIL just slipped on some ice last week, and actually broke her elbow in 2 places....she's now going in for surgery today to get a metal plate put in :-(

That's what doctors are there for!

So yesterday I stepped outside to let the dog in and my foot that I stepped with hit ice and shot out from under me. I ended up going down hard with one leg splayed out in front of me and the other one under me. When I got up my ankle hurt but in kind of an unusual place. It is just a little above my ankle on the inside. Immediately it hurt to walk on. Even today there is zero swelling or bruising but I still can't walk without a limp and have to turn my foot to the side, it hurts to flex it and hurts to touch in that area. Im fairly certain it isn't sprained because I have done that a million times and this feels nothing like it but I can't understand why it hurts so darn much. DH thinks it is no biggie and I should just put ice on it and move on with my day but I am starting to worry a bit. I would just go to the doc but because I was blessed to have this happen after the first of the year I am now in a new deductible year and will have to pay big to visit the doc:( what do you think bees? Am I being a baby or should I go in?
