There is nothing to be ashamed about with pumping at work in my opinion!</p> <p>I used to pump hands free so i could multitask and one time ended up calling child protective services while pumping (I am a social worker). The guy who took my report on the phone was really soft spoken and seemed to have a hard time understanding me even though I felt I was being clear. At one point, he asked what the noise was in the background, so I told him it was my breast pump! He said he couldn't understand me and I repeated it again, then he got all apologetic....made me laugh!</p> <p>People should appreciate the reality of being a working, pumping mom. And I basically just flipped my lid, haha. I basically said that the new Mother's Rooms were needed for the mother's and that the current Mother's Room was in the rear mill (the crappy old part of the building) and that it was booked full all day and so we needed the new rooms and we probably didn't want to share!</p> <p>Then I felt embarrassed for being so passionate about not sharing the rooms with everyone and that maybe I was being selfish... and also that I basically announced that I was milking my boobs at work during the day! Eeek! </p>
