@banana: Yep. She favors standing along side the couch/bed for some drive by nursing so it wasn't too difficult (I've gotten used to it). Wasn't the first choice thing to do, but it worked. lol

@sweet_p: I bought her a few bath toys but she won't even go near the bath TUB. I haven't tried the bubbles though! Will try tonight!!

My LO went through this phase too. What about getting some bath toys that she can play with while she's in there? We have a set of sea creatures and recently bought a little fishing net. LO also really likes bubbles, so we distract her with those and the toys while we wash her hair, etc. Hopefully things will get better for you soon!

@runsyellowlites: So you kneeled by the tub whilst standing her up whilst nursing? That's some major mama talent right there! I hope it's a phase too because I was just commenting on another thread that my baby's neck doesn't smell like stinky cheese anymore. And now I'm gonna be a big fat liar!

P did this at about 14 mths & there was no pool or scary thing that happened to cause it, she just suddenly started hated baths! She'd scream, cry, and try to climb out of the tub. Finally DH & I started taking care of bath time together & I'd kneel at the side of the tub while she stood up & nursed... it was the only way DH could get her bathed without her trying to claw her way out.

After a couple months I was able to shower with her without protest (put a few inches of water in the tub & she would crawl around). Now she's back to liking baths, just like that.

Hope it's a quickly passing stage for your lo!

@lovehoneybee: I tried getting in with her last night and she screamed like a maniac and was holding on to me for dear life! UGHH. WHY did I take her swimming??

@mrsmate: Kids are SO weird sometimes. haha. Glad it was just a phase with your daughter. I hope mine wakes up one day (soon!) and decides that water isn't her worst enemy!

Around 18mo DD went through a phase when she seemed terrified of baths. We just sucked it up bc you're right, you can't NOT bathe them. It was several months before she would be happy about taking a bath again. What was weird was she would happily swim in a pool or the ocean. One day she woke up and she was fine with baths again. Kids are weird. I'm sure you didn't traumatize your LO

Oh poor baby. Do you think it would help if you got in the tub with her?

My DD (13 months) used to LOVE taking baths. She would crawl in her tub all the time, whining for me to turn the water on. She would splash and laugh and have a good ole time.

Well...we took her swimming last week for the first time. I thought that she would love it, since it's essentially a tub but bigger. Unfortunately she didn't share my same thought process. She was screaming and squirming the entire time so I we left the pool. That night, I tried to give her bath. She FREAKED OUT. I thought it was because she was tired. But nope. Same thing the next night. And the next. It's been 8 days since that swimming pool experience and she's deathly afraid of getting in the tub!

What do I do?? I can't NOT give her a bath. She won't even let me sponge bathe her on our sink. It's like as if she's deathly afraid of water on her skin!
