Colic is typically earlier. I would guess teething too. I would not start cereal before you are ready just because she's pooping more. Hope she feels better soon!

She's also been super cuddly. Wants to sleep in my arms and always held. My shoulder feels like it might fall off!

@MamaMoose: Two cranky pants in one car for 4+ hours - sure you can manage?

I doubt its colic. They usually get over that by that age. Probably teething. C cut her first tooth at 4 months. Teething is always accompanied by super crankiness and diarrhea here. She was FF too.

@NaturallyCathy: Yup EBF. Sounds like teething to me. I have no other kids to compare to but I know I cut my first tooth before 4 months. My brother was around 5 months. So I think there is a decent chance ours is teething, too.

@travellingbee: Thanks! Is you son EBF or primarily BF? Em is primarily FF. That could explain the poop difference. I think it's teething because her big brother started getting his first tooth around month 5.

@MamaMoose: Me neither. She isn't showing signs of readiness for food yet. And I agree, they do go through a lot of changes right now which is why it didn't register as a problem.

I thought colic was supposed to be going away around 3-4 months, not just starting then.
My LO sounds the same except for the pooping. I think he is teething. Drooling, crying fits, chewing on everything... but he only poops every couple to three days. But I heard that teething can cause more watery or frequent stool because of all the drool.

Here's some info on colic-- HTH

M got fussy around that age. They go through so many developmental changes at that point that it can be a lot for them to handle. I would not recommend starting cereal at this point.

My parents were over a few hours ago and little miss Em, who is just 4 months old today, has been crying more than usual. She's also been pooping more than usual. My dad's comment - most likely colic, probably need to start her on cereal to help her stomach, which is probably producing acid, and no need to talk to my pediatrician. My mom's take? Probably teething since Em has been a rather excessive drooller since about 2.5 months. Nothing to really be concerned about.

I know she's usually an easy going baby and I realize this is a bit of a change in character but I'm like my mother - I chalked it up to teething. We're not doing terrible sleep wise. We just have screaming fits while awake sometimes. I think it's normal at this age. But maybe I'm wrong? Does this sound like colic to anyone else?
