@Smurfette: It just makes it slower and more oozy. I put things like beads, sequins, etc. in them.

A never stops moving either. We just have different baskets of toys all over the room that he crawls to and dumps out. Lately his favorite thing is to climb up on pillows (or me) and stand up in front of the couch.

I think that if they are more engaged in the environment than toys, let them explore their environment. No need to throw more toys their way. My LO much prefers non-toys to toys right now and I just let her have fun with that. New environments are always good.

@Smurfette: Yup, LO used to be so content to sit in my arms - now she's constantly trying to break free! It's been so much easier (and she naps more easily!) now that I just let her go!

@JerricaBenton: She does just want to move. She doesn't sit still.
@erwoo: We have a water bottle with rice that she loves. Will try the beans.
@irene: She does love to stand. But I am not sure she is ready for a walker yet, she isn't crusing yet. She will stand and hold onto something if we put her there.

@petunia354: I know! She is so tiny too compared to other kids as well. Apparently she likes to pat them on the head too!
@blackbird: Thanks for the reminder. We need to try out the door jumper again.
She first got up on all 4s at a little over 5 months. Then last week she finally started regular crawling after crawling for a couple weeks. All in all, it took a little over a month from when she first got up to regular crawling.
@Mrs. Blue: We have a door jumper. I forgot about it. I will see if she likes it this weekend. We tried it a month ago and she wasn't a fan. I don't want to buy anything either cause I know we are going to get so many at Christmas. She does love the water bottle with rice in it. I haven't heard of the Karo syrup one. I will look online for more ideas like that. She did entertain her for 15mins with my magazine last night. Tore it up!
@sorrycharlie: We got her something like that, kitchen version, for Christmas, well Santa did. Found at a consignment sale for $8! I bought her a music table, but I was hoping to save it till Christmas as well but I think I am going to have to bust it out.

Get a pushing walker! Not the type where she sits in and walks, but the type where she pushes. We got one when he was 7 months and he loved practicing walking pushing it. Other than that LO was obsessed with standing up at that age. Just prop her up on one end of a sofa and you sit on the other end, and cheer to ask her to cruise to you! Other things we started doing was holding his hands and encouraging him to take steps.

Nah, I don't think a 6-month-old can be bored of anything, really. Try putting some rice or beans in tupperware and let her shake it around. You can use different kinds of beans and different amounths for different sounds. Something my oldest's music teacher taught me. It's not horribly loud and can be quite entertaining for a baby.

So my LO didn't start crawling til 9 months, so I'll answer based on what entertained her then, lol! The fisher price laugh and learn home has been a god send. We got it for her when she was 6 months old and she could sit and play, but when she figured out crawling and pulling up it became a whole new world.

She also loved/loves her music table, zany zoo (but it would tip on her when she first started pulling up!), anything she could knock down and chase (cups, blocks), balls.

LO is seven months and her favorite thing is just to crawl and roll around on the floor. I put her mat out in the living room and toss some toys on it, turn on some music and she goes nuts until she's exhausted. After a bit I'll get a book and read to her on the mat and then she'll cuddle up to me. I think at this age they just want to move!

E loves his jumper right now. Do you have a jumperoo or door jumper. I think the boys are getting kind of tired of the toys they have, so I'm about to put a bunch of them up for a while and put out a few new things we haven't really had out. Also, I've been thinking about making some shakers, bottles with objects in Karo syrup, etc, for them to play with. I think they're just needing some new stimulation, but I don't want to go buy a bunch of toys.

Yep, we have this problem. She gets kind of whiny and fussy if we stay home all weekend. So we go places just so she can get some visual stimulation.

She does like her jumper, though!

When did R start crawling?! E is 6 months next week and she is *soooo close*

I feel the same way!! Lately it just seems like all he wants to do is explore, so we've been letting him do that. He's not content to just sit and play like he used to so we're trying not to fight it. We decided to convert a guestroom into a playroom for him so that there is on room that is completely safe for him to crawl around and explore! He loves it!

ETA: LOL on R being a bully. She always looks so sweet on IG, I can't imagine her crawling over the other babies at daycare :)

What do/did you do to entertain your 6 month old?

R seems bored with her exersaucer, which before she couldn't get enough of. She seems bored with her toys after a while. I asked day care this morning what she does all day. They said she crawls all over the room to the different sections. Her and one other boy and working on standing up together. And they like to crawl over the other kids together. (Side note, is my kid the bully  )

DH and I feel like she is bored with her toys and need some ideas for things to do at home with her on the weekends.
