I feel a little bit guilty but at the same time I know I need a mental and physical break just to recharge. I've still been taking LO to daycare when I'm working from home or off, though I do pick her up a little earlier. It's wonderful to have some down-time to just be alone &amp; relax or do housework/errands without baby in tow. Plus, she loves her daycare and stays in her routine. When my DD went to daycare, I started a new job, so I limited all my personal days off for a long while. And since she would get sick from being new at daycare, I already felt bad if I had to take sick days to stay home with her... So I didn't do this, but totally wish I could've swung it. I used to be the director at a daycare in a small suburban community and couldn't believe how many SAHM's dropped their kids off EVERY DAY for HOURS. I mean, I'm a SAHM now too, and I totally get doing it for a few hours in the morning for socialization or a quick Mommy break, but eight hours? Every day? Ridiculous. You definitely shouldn't feel bad about doing this for just one day! When I mentioned to my mom that I took a day off and had LO in daycare, she mentioned that my brother and SIL do this occasionally.
