His thoughts were she was a big girl and we check it/adjust the tightness so it was fine; he wasn't the one dealing with toddler tantrums first thing in the morning. When DS was 3, he was in a fantastic preschool that stressed this type of thing (not neccessarily potty). I've seen the kids pour their own juice at lunch time and serve themselves. If there's a mess, the teachers help the students clean it up. Our compromise is basically that DD can do it herself if she's very careful and doesn't make a mess. If she's playing around/being careless, she doesn't get to do it for the rest of the day. So of course her aim's not perfect. </p> <p>IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. The first time I tried emptying it out she freaking threw a huge ass tantrum because SHE WANTED TO DO IT!!!</p> <p>Am I crazy? Should I just let her throw her pee and poop in the toilet and just clean up after her?<br /> (I clean and sanitize the bowl (little and big) after she's done of course. </p> <p>Or should I tell her sorry, this is MY job and beat my husband's booty into submission? HA. kidding about the beating. Ugh. </p> <p>Third option.. Maybe I should get rid of the small potty and have her just sit on our big toilet from now on? Means I'd have to get another stepping stool.. </p>
