Have you tried having no reaction at all when she throws the fork? DS was doing this for a while with his cup. He thought it was hilarious to throw it. We just tried to stay as expressionless as possible, pick it up, and put it out of his reach. When it stopped being funny he stopped throwing it.

@Mae: Could you maybe use a paci clip and somehow attach it to the fork? That way you could at least clip it to her shirt or something.

@MrsSRS: ofgood point. Stupid parents not watching their kids ruining it for the rest of us lol

@Jess1483: she isn't old enough to get a fork being cool. And she doesn't know any characters :/

@Mrs. D: interesting! Unfortunately she's freakishly strong and shed pull that off in 5 seconds haha. I got her suction bowls and she considered it a personal challenge (which she always won)

@Boogs: omggggg she throws her cup too. So annoying! We just leave it on the floor then though. You throw, you get to be thirsty for a few min.

Looks like I'm diy-ing!

They make the kind you can fasten to a hand. They are used mostly for feeding therapy but they work well.

I'm all for a DIY on this one, but could you buy her a super cool fork and when she throws, replace with a boring one? So she still has a fork, but she has to not throw to get the (*insert favorite character*) one?

Probably not something you can buy because if it was long enough to work I bet it would be a strangulation hazard. But you could DIY with a strong suction cup, a fork, a ribbon, and a hot glue gun.

Does this exist? My LO eats so much better when she eats off of a fork. And she's fully capable. But she also thinks it is HILARIOUS to throw the fork. At us. Or the dog. Or whatever. We tell her no. We try just taking the fork away but then she eats way less and also doesn't get to practice with the fork (we've done whole weeks where I take it away after the very first throw and it doesn't seem to put a dent in the throwing). I want a fork that she can't throw. Like on a paci clip? but longer obviously so we can help her get food on the fork (she's awesome about fork-to-mouth but not so much on food-to-fork).

Is this a thing?
