I agree with PPs. We use cloth during the day and disposables at night. If it wasn't working well, I would switch. Especially with twins.
Have you thought about trying another kind of CD? We use all AIO's for convenience and have very few leaks. Plus, they are more slim fitting.

I think you've already made your decision! No shame in using disposables, especially since you're having so many wetting issues.

I feel like this is like the whole breastfeeding debate. Breast is best...... But in reality its just not best for everyone. Formula was best for us. And cloth isn't best for everyone either. You have to do what works for your family!

I agree it sounds like it makes sense to use disposables. And if you are already using them at night you know there aren't any allergies or anything.

I second Honest diapers...They're green and come in cute prints that kind of resemble the cuteness of CD. And I bundle, and set my shipment for every 5 weeks and it's $79 including wipes, and it just shows up at my door. It's roughly $16 a week for dipes and wipes:)

Go with disposables. The cost would be enough for me.

Oh man, I think we paid $400 total for cloth diapers for X (gDiapers, we've never had those problems it sounds like you're having with leaks). I'd still cheer you on with cloth, but I wash ours, and honestly, if we had had twins, I don't know that I'd do cloth-- it would be harder to keep up with laundry, that's for sure. If you need to switch, no biggie. I certainly get the cost element, too.

If your conscience is bothering you, you can always do some elimination communication or start early potty training, and get out of diapers sooner, which is ultimately the greenest option. :)

Sounds like you know what to do. So here's me, telling you: "go with disposables!" If CD isn't working for you (and sounds like it isn't really), there's absolutely no shame in switching. Or regardless, there is no shame. Both are totally valid options. If you were interested in continuing to CD, you could look into other brands/styles. We have tried several and I can attest that not all cloth is created equal. Quite the contrary. But I love how thorough you were in your list, and to me it sounds like disposables are your solution.

I say go for disposables and if being green is a concern, try honest or seventh generation.

Don't feel bad... you gotta do whats right for your family and sanity! Btw - we started using way fewer diapers after the 6 month mark so it might be even more of a cost savings with disposables. At 8 months, we go through 5-8 per day, depending on how many times she poops!

Do it! I love my cloth diapers, but I seriously doubt that I would use them with twins. Especially not if they were stupidly leaking everywhere! It is a big bummer to think of them sitting in a landfill, but is that really worth all your hassle???

Don't feel too bad! You've gone longer (and with twins!) with CD than most people would even consider! I wanted to be gung-ho about CD and still want to give it a try in couple of months, but I can't even imagine ALL those newborn CDs piled up when I think of how many times LO has gone when I JUST changed her in the first couple of months.
And if it's more cost-efficient to use disposables, it's understandable why you'd want to quit. Don't be too hard on yourself!

Do what is right for your family! If disposables are easier and cheaper for you, it sounds like you've got your answer. :)

I subscribe to a CD service, and in the beginning we thought it would be cheaper than disposables (and there is no way on the planet I can wash my own CDs with twins. Well, I probably could, but I really, really don't want to). We're getting to the point where I need to get new covers (we're currently using Thirsites Duo Wraps) because the kiddos are growing out of them. Also, I'm coming up on having to renew my subscription, which is a 6 month at a time thing. I really don't want to. I feel like I should bullet this list because it's way long:
- It is actually cheaper to subscribe to Amazon to get Pampers Swaddlers than it would be to a) get new covers that fit and b) pay for another 6 months- ~$700 vs. ~$600
- I really don't like how they are SO bulky- I have to double stuff inserts due to both kids being really heavy wetters, and their pants fit all weird.
- Even with double stuffing and changing diapers every 2 hours, DS can still wet through two trifolded diapers and wets his clothes. My mom went through 4 different outfit changes today. It's annoying.
- We are using disposables at night anyway.
- Disposables are easier. Well, for me anyway.

I just feel SO guilty! 8 diapers a day per kid is 5,840 diapers a year!

UGH. What should I do?
