@dolphin: Yes! And Parks and Recreation! I am ridiculously happy about that one.

1. My LO rolled over from his back to belly for the first time, and he squeals and kicks his legs like crazy in excitement every time - it's the cutest thing ever!

2. DH and I have been having insurance problems since I left my job to care for LO, because all the private plans that cover maternity are insanely expensive and have a year waiting period, and we don't want to wait that long! Yesterday my mom offered to add me to her insurance, which is legal since I'm not 26 for another year, won't cost her anything extra since she was already covering my younger brother, and is a great insurance plan! Woohoo :)

I have been having a hard time off and on since last December- started with a lawsuit, followed by several financial catastrophes, daycare drama and finally making a hard job switch to ease our financial stress. My LO is 16 months and still gets up 3+ times a night and it is slowly driving me insane.
My good thing, my AMAZING thing, is that yesterday, for the first time in a long time, I woke up feeling like I could do this and do it joyfully. The feeling stuck with me all day and it was wonderful. I feel like I can see the light, now, and I am so grateful and excited. Joy is back, baby!
@Mrs. Twine:I hope your light at the end of the tunnel comes ASAP

I just wanted to say a quick thanks for all the smiles you all have given me. It brightened my day to hear some of the wonderful things that are going on in your lives!

I will come back during Lorelei's nap and do a better job of responding, but I just had to say "thank you."

AND I have a new nice thing: Ellie's first day at public school went great and she is excited about going back today and in a great mood. Huge victory!!!

@Mrs. Twine: I can't imagine the pain that you're all feeling :( I hope brighter days are ahead.

I made an apple pie and brought it to M's babysitter when I picked her up today. When I walked in the door our sitter's 3 year-old daughter looked at it and said "I could go for a dose of that apple pie!" I keep smiling picturing her :)

More personally, M learned how to give kisses (more like head-butts) the past few days. Love!

@Mrs. Twine: Hope your bad month comes to a closure soon. The holiday vibe and decor is just around the corner, that always puts me in a better mood!

A good thing that is happening this week is I am suppose to get the high chair that we ordered for LO tomorrow. At first we were expecting to wait 2 weeks but instead only waiting a few days! I am so excited.

Sending you the most massive internet hug I can find. If I could drive to MN and give it to you in person, I would. Sending you patience and clear vision for the right path forward.

It's been a week over here, too. But, I have two things:
1. I'm 11 weeks today :) :)

2. DH accidentally bought this strange flavored seltzer water, and I've been avoiding drinking it. But I opened it tonight, and it tastes like an orange creamsicle. This sounds nasty, but it is strangely delicious. I have no idea why.

I picked three random cute articles of clothes at Target yesterday and bought them without trying them on, and SHOCKINGLY, all of them fit and looked cute when I tried them on. No trip back to Target necessary :)

@Mrs. Twine: **hugs** once she has an IEP isn't the school district required by law to provide her with a 1:1 if it's been stated that she needs one? If that isn't an option, I believe they are required to pay for her to attend a school where her needs can be met. I can't imagine what inpatient treatment would feel like for either the parent or child, hard to even think about, but one thing I heard when DH was working in that setting was that for some parents it gave them a chance at a positive relationship again because they had spent so much time & energy trying to manage their child, that they never had opportunities to enjoy time with them & have positive interactions, but once they were in programs where someone else was managing the behaviors, even when it was temporary, the parents were able to rest without fear & recharge, then able to come back to their children and enjoy having some positive interactions. I know that is a worst case scenario, I just wanted to reframe it in a positive way.

Something nice.... Hmmm.... We had a lapse in ins coverage between out old ins & the ins from DH's new job so we are covered for last wk & this wk by state ins (haha, yup, 2 wks!), he had a dr appt & there was no copay & he picked up 3 scripts for less than $10!!! Granted the most important one couldn't get filled because the state ins says rather than taking a med 2x / day he should take twice as much once a day so they don't have to cover as many pills, but hopefully the approval will go through tomorrow. Also I talked to an old friend today & it was nice. And my cat is asleep on my lap right now & I'm loving the snuggles.

My good thing for the week:

I've had 2 meetings with 2 potential brides in 2 days! I'm newer in the wedding photog biz and I was sort of bummed that I have to cancel my only two weddings already booked for next year because they are both within 2 weeks of my due date-- so getting a bunch of inquiries for late next summer/fall/winter this week is making me suuuuper happy!

I am also having a rough couple of days between disappointments at work and a blowout argument with DH this morning...

But since this thread is so nice here's one good thing and 2 exciting discoveries I've made recently!

1. Had to leave the dog home for most of the day today (much longer than usual) and came home to a happy dog and no accident!

2. Just read the first few chapters of "taking charge of your fertility" and feeling extremely enlightened and more aware of my body. I'm hoping to use the FAM method instead of my current nuvaring for the next year or so until we start TTC. Hormonal BC is no bueno for my body. I'm sick of migraines!

3. Made the decision to switch to cloth menstrual pads and ordered some. It sounds gross at first but it's a similar concept to cloth diapering (which I plan to do) and has had some really positive physical benefits as reported from users in blogs and on YouTube.

Things like this brighten my mood. I hope you feel better!

September is a really stressful month at work for me, and the last several weeks, I've been staying up working so late every night free the boys go to bed. But...I finalized & turned in my last major project yesterday! I'm so relieved! I still will have small projects as issues come up, but not having anything huge hanging over my head feels great!

Also, DH'a grandparents are coming to see us this weekend. I absolutely adore them, so I'm psyched about that!

@Mrs. Twine: I'm so sorry you're having such a rough month (months?). I really really hope things start turning better soon. And crossing my fingers that Ellie does well and enjoys her public school!

I wish I had some "nice" things to share. Well, let's see....My son stopped crying at preschool drop off and actually WANTS to go to school, which is so nice. And he's enjoying his new speech therapy class, which he used to hate with the other therapist. And his speech is getting better every day! And my daughter's eczema is finally clearing up (after 13 months!). And she's such a chatterbox already. She can say 20 words at 13 months (I counted them yesterday). I'm hoping and praying that we don't have to go through speech therapy with her, too. So far it doesn't look like it. But we'll see.

Horay! Glad you found the book!

Im really happy because I got some course results through and I got 72% which is a distinction! A bit of back story - my employer put me on a masters degree level course at a university when I still haven't got my degree yet (I quit uni when I was 19 and Im now undertaking my degree distance learning aged 32!). I did ny final assignment very heavily pregnant, too. So, to get such a good mark at masters level has boosted my confidence no end!
