@mrs. tictactoe: DD had all of her teeth at 1 yr, so I had to find alternates for what wouldbcause the screaming. I think it was nightmares. She does get night terrors, too, but the crying from nightmares ends shortly after we go into her room. There's just so much brain activity going on that it's easy for them to get scared.

@mrs. tictactoe: Have you tried Hylands teething tablets? They're all natural and have been our saving grace through teething! http://www.amazon.com/Hylands-Homeopathic-Teething-Symptomatic-Children/dp/B005F0CQ9I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367610649&sr=8-1&keywords=hylands+teething+tablets

Poor little guy. And poor you! I hope it's just teeth and he gets through it quickly. Could it be molars? :(

My LO has done this 3 nights in the last 4 months. So frustrating! I think it's teething related, but like Liam, she is all fine and happy if we don't try to make her go to sleep.

LO is acting the same way! His molars are coming in =( He is so grumpy and I find him picking his molars with his fingers. It must really bug him.

@StbHisMrs: I hate teething!!!

My husband said he was still asleep when he left for work and I texted the nanny an hour ago asking how he was doing and she still hasn't responded. I know she's probably busy taking care of him and I'm glad she doesn't constantly check her phone, but it's making me anxious, especially since I didn't get to see him before I left!

We went through the same thing too, I suspect it was her teeth. I gave her some advil and teething tablets and sat up with her for an hour while she tossed and turned. Finally some warm milk put her to sleep (midnight), until 3:30 where she did it again. I kept asking her to point to her "owie" but she was too busy screaming, then I noticed two more new teeth under her gums.

Wouldn't you know, the night before my sleep post goes up, Liam has one of the worst nights of sleep since he was a newborn. He woke up around 11 and went back to sleep on his own a few times, but then stayed up. We rescued him and he continued to scream bloody murder as we tried to rock/bounce him to sleep. I gave in and nursed him, but he still wouldn't sleep. If he was in bed with us, he wanted to play and chat. If we tried to go back in his room, he started screaming. I finally got him back to sleep around 2am and was able to transfer him to his crib. He was still sleeping when I left for work around 7:20, which almost never happens.

I checked him all over for any indication that he was in pain and ended up giving him motrin in case it was his teeth that were hurting, but I'm wondering if it's possible he was having night terrors. I think it's too early, though.

Anyway, this is the second night this week where I only got 4 hours of sleep (he had a rough night two nights ago, but he wasn't nearly as upset as last night) and I hope it doesn't continue, for his sake and for ours.

What do you do when you don't know what's wrong with your LO?
