The first night of uninterrupted sleep is amazing! DH and I woke up after a full 4 hours of sleep each and didn't know what to do with ourselves. We ran in to be sure LO was still ok and couldn't believe he was still sleeping!

My doctor always said don't let a baby go longer than 4 hours without eating unless it's nighttime sleep. If they're sleeping at night, never wake them...especially if they're over 12 pounds. That just means they can go throughout the night now...and enjoy it!

DS had some health issues at birth and I was told to set an alarm to wake him for feedings. Even when we were given the "all clear" to let him sleep, I had trouble sleeping!

He's almost 3 and I still wake up and go take a look at him. :)

So, I've been struggling with sleep with my 13 wk LO. We normally bed share and he has been eating every 1.5 hrs at night! Last night I put him in his swing in his nursery for a nap at 7p and and he SLEPT!! I was so torn and tried to sleep, but I couldn't! He has never gone longer than 4 hours without eating and has never slept longer than five hours, which only happened once many weeks ago! I kept checking the monitor, even went in to make sure he was breathing!! At 130a, after he had been sleeping 6.5 hrs and had not eaten in 8, I went in to feed him. I was so worried about him and my boobs were rocks, I just didn't know what to do! He was fine and unfortunately I had to bring him back to my bed, where he stayed latched on me the rest of the night. I am so sleep deprived and last night slept about an hour of fragmented sleep. I can't believe I woke my baby and that he slept for sooooo long!!! Ugh!! I think it was a unicorn of a night, but maybe it will happen again. I feel so much better about possibly sleep training in a few weeks now that I know he can go that long! Has anyone else experienced something similar?
