We evacuated after the storm, and my apartment took on a lot of water. I was in a bad place emotionally, couldn't stand to be around my family right then, and had no apartment to go home to, so I ended up flying up to stay with a roommate's mother in Pennsylvania. I stayed there a month before answering an ad on Craigslist for a couple looking for a housemate in Philly. I had uploaded some pictures of a night bowling with friends. He went to high school with one of my friends that was bowling and was tagged in the pictures. My husband was looking through the pictures, saw me (whom he didn't know), clicked on my profile, thought I was "his type" and messaged me. I responded to the message with my typical, sarcastic response to messages like that which for some reason started a back and forth conversation which led to us meeting in person. </p> <p>We're still too embarrassed to admit we met online so we typically just tell people we met through a mutual friend which is kind of the truth. I definitely would never have met DH if my Dad hadn't gotten me an interview with my first company out of college. The job market was really competitive when I graduated and interviews were extremely hard to come by, even for people like me who did well at a great school. He knew the regional president of my first company and passed my resume along which guaranteed the interview. I did well and was hired and met DH shortly after at an off-site training. </p> <p>And his answer is the same because his Mom got him the interview through connections too! My senior year of college I wanted to go to business school, but I took the LSAT on a whim and then applied to one law school, literally last second. In the end I chose law school over business school because I had a better scholarship, haha. We met through a facebook group for my law school once I was accepted , started hanging out once school began, and were dating within a month. That wasn't weird for me though, I love going to temple. Hubby on the other hand never went, but a group of them decided to go and pray for a friend who was about to be deported. If that didn't happen, we probably wouldn't have met. Which is weird because we've gone to the same temple our whole lives, but never noticed each other because he's 5 years older. </p>
