i think we had 6-8 and we barely used them. LO didn't spit up or drool and even when she did, i just wiped it off! i got a bandana bib for this LO because i think they're so much cuter! if DD2 is a drooler, i will get more of those!

I have like 20 (friend gave me her hand me down set and I already bought the green sprouts pack), plus I have a bunch of cute bandana ones that I put on DD when we're out.

I think 10-20 is totally normal; DD is 9 mo and drools a ton on and off due to teething. Plus as she eats 3 meals a day, even with the plastic bibs over,s sometimes her cloth bibs still get dirty. I like being able to just toss as many as I need into laundry without worrying she won't have anymore!

neither of my kids were big droolers and teething didn't seem to affect them too much either. charlie did have phases of drooling when multiple teeth were coming in, but in general we probably had 5-6 bibs total and it was more than enough. i think i had less drool-y than average babies though.

We were given tons of bibs, but only used a handful of them (mostly plastic) around 6 months when DS started eating solids. He was never a messier eater, so around 15 months we stopped using them.

major spitter over here! One day, I came home from daycare with 5 used bibs -- they are a bit overzealous with changing, but still! I bought a pack of 10 and kept them in his cubby, but was still washing and restocking every 2-3 days.

ETA: those thick gerber prefolds were a lifesaver too. We have a drawer full, and at 1 year old, we still have them around the house for unexpected spitup (the transition to cows milk has been messy) or excessive drool from teething.

DS drooled a lot and it seemed like milk was constantly getting everywhere. I think there was a point when I couldn't have had too many cloth bibs. I agree with others - hold on to them and see how many you end up using. If you don't need too many you can always give some away later.

My 6 wk old has severe reflux and out of control spit up. For him bibs ain't gonna cut it! The spit up would just overflow over the bib. So I've never used bibs. But I probably have 20 burp cloths, cheap Gerber cloth diapers (work great for spit up), and tons of washcloths.

I am sure we won't use bibs until he starts drooling or eating solids!

I needed so many bibs for my kiddos. For spit up, I used burp cloths. Cloth bibs were for drooling and plastic bibs for eating. Both of my LOs drooled a lot, and sometimes they would go through 6 bibs a day. I don't do laundry everyday and loved the luxury of having lots of bibs on hand.

I voted 25 because mine was a major spitter and drooler. We probably had around 20 and still ran out occasionally. But we're probably an extreme.
I would still keep them all until you know.

DS1 only used them for eating.

DS2 easily goes through 5-10 bibs a day, so it depends on how often you do laundry. It's kind of remarkable. I wish I had more bibs, haha.

We were gifted bibs upon bibs upon bibs, and the only ones we used initially were for spit up-the A&A Burpee Bibs (which I bought-these weren't in the 30+ we were gifted). I maybe used 3 or 4 of the gifted ones when he did oatmeal, but once we moved on to real food I bought waterproof bibs and the cloth ones are still sitting unused. I definitely won't be giving bibs as gifts in the future now that I see how little they get used!

We never needed many. DS wasn't a spitter, we only used bibs for times when he was teething and drooling like crazy and for meal times. I'd say 4-5 absorbent drool bibs and 2-3 wipeable food bibs has been plenty for us.

I found burp cloths (prefolds!) to be most helpful for my very spitty-uppy kids. We use cloth bibs for drool and plastic bibs that can be wiped down for meals. So.. for us: 10 cloth bibs, 10+ good burp cloths and 2 plastic bibs.
