Helps me sort. Helps me put it in the washer and he pours the cap of detergent in and presses the buttons. I think that every member of the family should do things to help around the house and keep it running, that’s just part of being in a family. Everyone did chores. It was everyone's responsibility. Allowance was something we were given to learn how to save/spend responsibly. </p> <p>Allowance could be taken away for many reasons, including not doing chores. </p> <p>There were usually extra chores/work we could do for extra money. He chose: setting the table, washing the windows, and putting away the clean silverware. I ordered one off Amazon that arrives tomorrow but curious how other parents approach chores. </p> <p>I never got an allowance. I was expected to pitch in and do what was asked, so I'm a bit clueless on the allowance deal. I do know I want a few things he doesn't earn an allowance for: self care and cleaning up after himself (so brushing teeth, cleaning up his plate, getting dressed). </p> <p>So far we have the ideas of he can water the plants, dust and feed our dogs. Any other ideas or what you and your family do would be great. </p>
