We ordered room service (like fancy room service; champs and steaks etc) and since it's a nice hotel the room service is pretty good! I'd go away for the weekend with the family, but take an afternoon to yourself for a spa! Or take your actually birthday off work and do a spa day - my friend does that every year. I recently did basically just that, although alone, as a late birthday celebration for myself, and it was so fun. </p> <p>The spa idea might feel like more of a fabulous blowout though. If you're comfortable with it I LOVE gingerbebe's idea. as usual, her ideas are always amazing. I ended up being in a reminiscing mood and spent an afternoon with friends wine tasting and catching up. I also took the day off work and had a me day at home. I usually like to plan our winter vacation for that week but this year we decide to take a Disney cruise the month before. </p> <p>I’d like to do something fun because it’s a big birthday and I don’t want to sit around being depressed at hitting another decade. </p> <p>We have two kids and no one to watch them overnight, so anything we do needs to either be kid friendly or something DH and I can do during the work day while they’re at daycare. He suggested we get a limo and go into Boston to do something, but I don’t even know what. The other thing I thought of is to go to our favorite hotel/spa about 1.5 hours away. Either for the day by ourselves or overnight with the kids. </p> <p>Any ideas for fun/special things to do in the Boston-ish area in March? </p>
