@lazypanda: Those are great positives! Plus sushiiiiiii!

@bluestriped bee: The dreaded tww where you somehow have a little hope but really just want AF so things can move on! Good luck Thurs!

My HSG got bumped up to tomorrow -- yikes! My husband can't go but I'm trying to relax about it. He still gets off early Friday so we'll get to head out for Arizona earlier than planned which makes me happy!

@CupQuakeWalk: I have no idea when I O'd. I was out of town and forgot to bring OPKs (plus they don't work for me).

When I'm not on meds, my cycles are 33-34 days long so I normally O around cycle day 20.

So from my fertility app, it says I might have O'd on April 10th.

Oh, it lengthened your cycle? We BD on cycle day 19, so there is still a chance but I highly doubt it at this point. Just looking forward to IVF at this point.

@lazypanda: :) I am so happy for you to be ovulating! You're inspiring me with your positive attitude.

@bluestriped bee: what day did you think you O'd and what day did you actually O? I know I O'd on cd18 on clomid with a 13 day LP. That was 3 cycles in a row. ETA: I took Clomid 3-7. Before Clomid, my LP was like 10 days, so I think it elongates it if anything but that has just been my own experience, of course.

2. I actually ovulated on clomid!
3. I now have a real opportunity to get KU since the medication is working.

Late update. So all those weird symptoms went away and I went back and looked at my calendar and realized that it was too early to ovulate the first time we BD. We did BD the following week, which was a few days before I think I O'd. Still not sure if the clomid change my O or cycle length.

So I am still in the TWW, though it's only 7DPO. Unless AF comes early because of clomid. Who knows.

As for IVF, we are seeing the new RE to review my recent results on Thursday. We should have plan by then. Fingers crossed that they'll let me start BCP when AF arrives.

@Happygal: my thoughts exactly. I left work early so I could be in the comfort of my own home to hear whatever the news would be. I called the office when I didn't hear from my RE. They apologized and said that RE wasn't in. Oh well, at least I know not to test since it'll just be wasting $$$. I ran out of wondfos & am tempted to order more OPKs and HCG tests (not wondfo this time, still a waste of $ since I'm being monitored) but a part of me is still holding out hope. Hope that I won't have to deal with OPKs and HCG tests TTC #1.

@shutterbug: have a lovely trip! I concur with @Happygal: it's always nice to have a vacation spot to return to & get away from your daily routine.

@Happygal: it didn't work, curiosity got the best of me and DH isn't very good at hiding things. :silly:

**Also, my WTF consult with RE is actually scheduled for 4/17. I had written in my calendar 4/15 because I had scheduled it for CD27 which is what RE had asked for. Apparently, my RE is not in until Thursday this week. :bummed: The nurse I spoke to said that today is still too early for me to be testing.

@alohaorchid: I would agree with previous posters as well regarding getting the help of a counselor/therapist. If he is not willing to discuss it, maybe having a individual therapist for yourself could help in coming up with ways to communicate your concerns to your DH.

@alohaorchid: I second the idea of couples counseling. I'm new here and didn't want to go out on a limb and saw...but when you talk about how conflicted your husband's thoughts and emotions are and how he's avoiding any deeper discussion with you...maybe it would really help to define your goals and get a plan underway.

@mrswin: agree!!!

@mrswin: Before we got married we had a surprise pregnancy (that ended in MC) so I think he thought that everything did just go away. From what I've heard, he wasn't happy in his first marriage even before they started TTC and so he thinks that things didn't work out with her because it wasn't meant to be. He thinks things are meant to be with us so "it'll happen when it happens".

Before we got married he would talk about kids all the time, how he couldn't wait to have a baby, how cute our baby will be, picking out which room the baby's room would be, deciding on what car to get, etc. After we got married - nothing. Well, I shouldn't say that, everything changed after I started getting tests done.

His MFI is mild, apparently. He has told me which part of MFI it is but that's it. I actually found out that it's mild because his friend called him a few months ago because they found out they also have MFI. I asked him what their issue is and he said "same as me but mine's mild and his severe". That's all I've managed to get out of him. Oh, and how awkward and uncomfortable it is to have to jerk off in a cup all the time... if there was a rolling eyes smiley I would enter it here!

It doesn't help that his sister keeps telling him all of these stories about how people can't concieve because they're with the wrong person and then they magically concieve once they are with someone else.

I will definitely find a ND who specializes in fertility.

@alohaorchid: It made my LP better and AF more "normal". See if you can find an ND who specializes in fertility as they should be well versed in interpreting charts and understand what testing should be/could be done and how to have the most impact.

What was your DH's view on the fertility stuff before you got married? I agree he may want to believe that it has "gone away" but that is not likely.

Your SIL sounds like a prize, you should absolutely start drinking now! :silly:

@mrswin: I agree 110% He needs to stop being so immature and burying his head in the sand over this. I think he thinks all of that stuff is in the past but unfortunately, it's just something that he brings with him into any relationship.

I think I will make an apppointment to see the ND. I went to one years ago for other issues and it helped immensely, so hopefully it will help this time too. Did you find it made your LP better?

I'm dreading seeing my SIL this weekend! She's a textbook sanctimommy and all she ever wants to talk about is her kids, or how empty your life is without kids, or what we're doing to TTC. Then she will change the subject to how TTC ruined his marriage last time and so I need to "tread carefully", but at the same time my life will be pointless without kids, and we have to have two (I only want one, I can't imagine more than that). I can feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about it! Can I start drinking now?!

@alohaorchid: To be frank.... if he wants a baby that badly then he needs to get his s**t sorted out! I can sympathise that the last time he went through this he had a pretty sour experience but you are a different person which us presumably why he married you

You could go the ND by yourself to see if you can determine what/if you have any issues and go from there. As far as "treatment" it was largely dietary for me as well as a specific tea and vitamins to help to "fix my cycle. I was temping an ovulating on CD13 or 14 typically but then my LP was all over the place 13-16 days with low temps (not below the cover line) from 10DPO onwards. She made some recommendation for my DH based on his test results from the RE, mostly just vitamins that are good for sperm quality

@mrswin: I just started temping this cycle! Up until now I have been using OPK's and charting, but could never seem to remember to temp. Then my doctor mentioned that OPK's can be positive even if you don't O, so temping is the best way to track it. It makes me feel even more confused because how could I have PCOS, ovulate on the same CD every cycle, and be so regular? I think something else is going on, and I think to do really find out what it is, I need to do more tests. The question is - do I do them without my husband or not!?

I honestly don't know if he would. He seems so hesitant to anything. When we had our MC he was drinking some Chinese tea like crazy (for energy) and later on he read that it could have a positive effect on sperm quality. A few months ago when he was on a "baby fever" kick, I told him to start drinking the tea again and he wouldn't do it. He just said "I want to stay relaxed, we have to be relaxed, no stress, if it happens, it happens". That's pretty much ALL I can get out of him and it's frustrating!

I actually told him last week that I think we need to go to counselling because we need to communicate about this stuff. It kind of upsets me because everywhere else we're a great couple and we have no issues communicating about anything other than TTC.

The super frustrating thing about all of this is that it's him that really wants a baby.

As far as seeing a naturopath - what did they recommend?

@alohaorchid: I'm glad that you think you ovulated, are you temping? Would you DH be willing to see a ND (naturopath) who specializes in fertility if he is not interested in going the RE route? We see one and she has been really good, there have been marked improvements in my SO's numbers as a result. Wall me if you want more info, I am in Canada too.

3 positives (man, these were hard to think of. Life has been trying lately):

1. I passed both sections of an exam for a professional certification in my field!
2. Next month I'll be paying off a large student loan.
3. Easter candy is amazing and since it's still cold/snowy here, I don't feel the need to start getting in shape for summer quite yet (hello, Cadbury eggs! I feel no guilt!)

@Kelli_Deluxe: there will be lots of wine, thankfully! It's not my MIL or FIL that are the issue (they're great!), it's my SIL and her kids. The kids are nuts! They used to be so well behaved when they were younger but now they're just wild! My SIL is in a whole other category by herself... Ugh. It's 6:30am and I already want wine just thinking about it!

@mrs. bird: sorry to hear that you're out for a bit :( I hope you get your insurance fixed soon

@MrsMcD: my doctor gave me a lab req for my husband and it just said "complete semen analysis"

@Kelli_Deluxe: 5 tubes of blood!! and that would be why I'm having such a hard time with this stuff! Good luck with your HSG!

Not much of an update from me. I'm now 99.9% sure that I ovulated this cycle, which is now making me start to question my doctor. I'm getting even more frustrated with my husband and his lack of communication regarding this stuff, the best I can get out of him is "you're happy without kids too right?"

@alohaorchid: @FaithFertility: @mrswin: Thank you ladies! I'm going to try and not test until Thursday unless RE directs me to test tomorrow. I'll have DH hide the tests for me so I don't try to test on a whim. :silly:

@MrsMcD: DH had the complete SA ordered by RE. After our initial consult with the RE, he also ordered additional tests (Treponema pallidum Igg+IgM basically to test if there's any STD) so that we could potentially move towards IUI quickly if needed.

@mrs. bird: I'm sorry about the insurance. Your hope and attitude towards this journey is inspiring! I hope the break from medications will help you get your BFP as it did for a friend's old roommate.

@Happygal: The imaging center sent over a lab order for a urine test Thursday morning. Boo, hiss.

@MrsMcD: I echo everyone else! I got a "prescription" for my husband to get a "SA - Complete" at the fertility center across the street from the RE. I never knew about the specific coding but it provided us with the essential (volume, count, motility & morphology)

@mrs. bird: Thanks for sharing! I love your idea of this journey leading to a baby and being the "perfect" journey

@mrs. bird: ack. Just saw your update. I hope the downpour lets up for you soon and it's nothing but sunshine. Pop in and say hi if you want!

@shutterbug: totally understand, and never any pressure to respond. I'm all healed from the surgery, but want to blame it for the extra five pounds on my frame. I googled this and the internet doesn't back me up. Damnit! No more bowls of ice cream for me.

@MrsMcD: you want the 'complete', i think the other i just a count & doesn't include morphology. our RE was very specific that when the urologist ordered that they wanted a complete SA, not just a SA
