@Mrs. Pinata: Definitely not this summer, but eventually! I will stow those little nuggets of information for later. Thanks!

@FliegepilzHut: Yes, my in-laws were in Rome about 2 months ago and said it wasn't crazy at all. The weather also wasn't nice. :/
I think if you KNOW that it's going to be crazy-full of people you won't get as frustrated. :) Turns out while we were there was the canonization of a couple of popes, so I think that made it worse.

I would definitely not cut it out of a trip though! It's AWESOME how much beautiful history there is. The day we went to the Colosseum and Roman Forum the crowds weren't so bad and both of those sites were amazing. Just be sure you buy the "Roma" pass (we got ours at the tourist information spot at the airport) so that you skip the lines. Definitely worth it just to skip the lines, and even better with the free transportation! If you want to go to the Vatican Museum (with the Sistine Chapel at the end) you'll most definitely want to buy tickets ahead of time. You just want right up instead of waiting (literally) in a mile long line!

ETA: Oops! I just wrote all that out and saw you're NOT going to Italy! We were lucky we had enough credit card points to get free flights. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to go. Yeah, with IVF on the horizon it's definitely difficult to travel!

@Mrs. Pinata: No big vacation this year...IVF instead! Good to know... I've been a little bit apprehensive about Rome, because my sister was so off-put by it...but DH (a history teacher) SO wants to go!!! I wonder if there's an off-season...?

@FliegepilzHut: Did you say you're going to Italy? We just got back from Italy 2 weeks ago. Be warned- there are a crazy ton of tourists! We weren't prepared for how busy Rome would be. I think if we WERE prepared we would have enjoyed it more instead of it stressing us out. :-) (I know, I know. I shouldn't complain about going to ROME!)

@FliegepilzHut: Well, since my clinic closes end of June, I got bumped back another month. So my next cycle should start next Monday, so four weeks from then. I'll start BCP then, then after 3 weeks or so get going on the injections. So still a long ways away it seems! When do you anticipate starting?!

@CupQuakeWalk: No, I'm not Jordanian, I just thought it'd be a cool place to visit, mostly to see Petra. I wanted to go to Greece, but we always try to hit 2 spots whenever we travel so Jordan looked good. I'm not so sure if we're going anymore though. I'm not that into planning a trip this year.

@FliegepilzHut: We went to Rome last June. It WAS warm, we are used to warm weather here, but not the humidity. We still managed to enjoy the city, you just have to do as the Romans do and take it easy at the warmest point and be willing to be up all night :) I love summer nights in Rome, its honestly what I am most looking forward to.

I hope you get to feeling better very, very soon    The water going out is just crummy! Our hometown got hit by a really bad wind storm that knocked out electricity fr 3 days right after I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and that sucked. I'm sorry!

@owlteach: DH and I had discussed going to Greece and Italy this year...but then decided to do IVF instead! Do you think it will be unbearably hot in the summer?

@Happygal: I like the way you tick.... When do you plan to have your first US?

@mrs. bird: You poor thing... Hopefully you're feeling a little better (fevers, nausea, cramping, etc have diminished)???

@PurplePumps: I sincerely hope that you can talk some sense into him. I agree with everyone who said that maybe data would help? And talking about your goals together...?

@lazypanda: I'm so sorry that the end of your cycle was strange. And that people IRL can be schmucks... I'm glad that you are able to start your next cycle! to you and :goodluck: :goodluck: !!!

@LindsayinNY: Hooray for silver linings! :goodluck: !

@Jenn23: When is your anticipated start date???

@mrs. bird: OMG! The just left two-hour happy hour me LOLed a little, just at the whole situation. But, in your place, I probably would've wanted to cry. You poor thing! Hope you got a nice nap <3

@lazypanda: I think the emotions are complete ups and downs. Some cycles I'm so optimistic after and others, not so much... If anything, sometimes I feel more vocal about our situation, just to let others know, I guess? I cried on my 30th birthday because I thought I would've at least been pregnant by then. Now, I'm at the point of finding other positives in life. But man does it suck sometimes. <3

@mrswin: welcome back! I hope Europe was a wonderful experience!

@mrs Bunchy: I totally do a lot of what if situations! Like yesterday, I had a fleeting moment of hope that my short period meant that there was still another little bean in my uterus that was hanging on. Stupid, I know, but still what if that were possible. Or even, what if I stopped all meds right now, then maybe I can get KU without the medicated assistance.

@mrs. bird: I'm so sorry about your experience. I'm not sure what to say to be able to help you get through all of this. You are an incredibly strong person to have to deal with all of this. Silver lining would be that today you get to sleep & recuperate.

@LindsayInNY: It is terribly frustrating & that's why I'm happy to be on here as I feel that everyone does "get it." I am definitely very happy that people do not have to go through my situation but was more venting as some friends had told me, oh, you'll be a mother, I know how you feel because it took me 7 months to get pregnant, or just go on vacation & relax. There should be an etiquette book on discussing pregnancy with others.

For those who have taken so much longer, kudos to you guys for keeping it together. I feel like this morning was just my breaking point at the time I wrote my post. The reality of my goals not being achieved is weighing more heavily now with my birthday coming up. :meh: sorry for being a negative nancy/Debbie downer.

On a positive note, I did get an email from the nurse letting me know that the RE said I can go ahead and start clomid today. My u/s is scheduled for 5/31 & IUI #2 should then be 6/2 I believe.

@lazypanda: wow! Your cycles were pretty wonky before :( sorry. Glad it looks like your lining is holding up well even with the clomid.

So the balloon is out! But I'm bleeding a lot, like I bled through a pad in 30mins & then trying to drive home from the RE (she was at the main office which is almost an hour), I bled through an overnight pad, my pants, all the way to the seat of my car (good thing they're leather & just wipe off!) :( apparently they gave me the wrong script for estrogen & she thinks because I stopped taking it, that could have started my period so I have period bleeding and the bleeding from the surgery. After bleeding through everything driving back, I stopped at home to get cleaned up & apparently they accidentally shut down the water to my street while doing construction. I have no friggin water & literally had blood down to my ankles at that point. Going to take a quick nap, can't keep my eyes open, will check in later this afternoon.

@lazypanda: YES. There are definitely different phases in the TTC process. 6 months is different from 12 months is different from 18 months... You get it. I have a hard time with people on #2 while I'm still TTC #1. But such is life sometimes... Sometimes it's just the hand God dealt us.

@mrs. bird: my RE said my lining was doing really well considering the high dosage clomid I've been on. 2 days is awesome compared to the 2-4 weeks of bleeding I've had before BCP (granted, I would have 80 day cycles or 14 day cycles). While AF was heavy for Monday & Tuesday, I had to use the restroom almost every 2 hrs it seemed, I am now back to regular pad that doesn't get full. I hope the pain does get better for you. How is Mr. bird doing with the new job? Also, for the stress, if you click on the link I sent for @happygal, the site has a guided imagery script that may be useful.

@Happygal: my betas came back negative. DH & I are ready for the next IUI knowing that we did have a chance at being pregnant. It's so different than the previous cycle where I was hesitant to try IUI & DH was fine with pursuing the option.

@LindsayInNY: I'm sorry AF showed up now. I agree with @happygal: regarding the lining & heavy bleeding.

@PurplePumps: I'm sorry you're going through a tough time getting DH on board. I think it's important for 2 ppl to be in agreement about what happens, of course with you having veto power because it is your body that has to go through all the physical changes & a whole different set of emotional responses from the meds.

I now have to wait for the nurse to get back to me regarding next steps. Apparently, my bleeding the past two days is not a regular period. The nurse (this is the nice one I really like) said that I was pregnant so I have to wait for a real period to come. That my lining was good so there might be more bleeding. Unfortunately, because I'm anovulatory, the RE needs to decide if they want me back on progesterone to start a real period or just keep waiting for a "real" period to show up. :bummed: there is a huge possibility that I really will just be waiting around this month. I really am tired of hearing so many people getting pregnant within 6 months or hearing friends say that it does take some time & it took them 7 months to get pregnant. Sorry friend, I know you mean well, but my 18 months of nothing is more than double the amount of time you spent trying. End rant. :bummed:

@mrs bunchy: Aww! It's a bit overwhelming initially - there is SO much to process. I'm the queen of "what if-ing" though so I can relate!

Sorry been MIA- had my first RE appt yesterday. Went pretty well. I feel like it was so much.. I cried a good amount yesterday after it going through the whole why me story. I have my HSG tentively scheduled for June 18th - after I get home from Florida. Everything it out of pocket from here. Everything!!! So surreal. I just hope I picked the right RE for us. I can what-if myself to death though.

Fx I just get pregnant before next month. Ha.!!!

@mrswin: Welcome back! Hope you had a great trip. I'm excited to hear about your upcoming IVF appt. and when you'll be starting. We could be cycling the same time!

@EmilyE: That is great news!! That is super early as others said, so not typical to see anything yet. At the next ultrasound you will probably get to see your little one! :)

@PurplePumps: I hope you guys are able to talk about moving forward. I don't have any good advice on the matter. Our only option was IVF after a few years of nothing working, then finding out my only tube was blocked, so we were both anxious to do it. I guess just be honest and tell him that you don't think trying any more is the best option and you are really eager and excited to move forward to IVF and what would it take for him to get to that point. Financially it sounds like you have great coverage. Meds and most of IVF should be covered for you which is great!!

@LindsayInNY: Sorry to hear. :( I hope as others' said, that this is a good sign that everything is working properly at least!

@LindsayInNY: i'm sos orry:( And yes, my HEAVIEST cycles were definitely clomid cycles. I like to think it is due to super strong O but who really knows.

@PurplePumps: I am so so sorry:( That is a tough situation. What we did (and it is too late for that now for you) is: we played the whole "decision making-game" BEFORE we went to the RE. I let DH be indecisive and I let him drag his feet and be super-slow in processing for a good 12 months. But, once we had our appointment set with the RE, we sat down and made a commitment that whatever the RE told us to do, WHATEVER he said, we would do. I just feel like, if it is to the point where people are seeking a specialists' help, then they probably *should* just roll with the punches and do exactly as prescribed. That doesn't mean you do things you aren't comfortable with, but if both parties are committed to the end goal and both parties believe in the expertise of the RE, then it shouldn't be a huge decision to even make.
Now that being said, we vowed that if ever it got to a point where we just couldn't afford it, we'd back out (until we saved up enough).
P.S: are you Jordanian? (I am) I see you're going there this year and thought i'd ask which city you're headed to:) I'm majorly jealous. Don't eat too much mensaf without me :crying:

@mrswin: welcome back!
