@Shutterbug: I don't know those numbers but I am concerned about OR. I think I am now leaning toward a other IUI & definitely getting a second opinion. Thank you so much for your input!!!

I am so excited about the bracelet!!! Thank you so much!!! I need some extra "hope" right now! Lets communicate on our walls about it.

@kentuckygirl: how are your AMH/AFC levels? Are you concerned about ovarian reserve? If not, I'd say try to switch REs and do another IUI. It seems to me, from the way you phrase your questions, that you'd rather not go straight to IVF at this point (sorry if I'm reading that wrong!)

PS - I got you a bracelet - I need your address!

I also posted this on the IVF thread but I would like any and all advice. I am in my TWW from our 3rd IUI and trying to decide if this doesn't lead to a BFP if we are going to move on to IVF. I am 37 (will be 38 in October) and DH is 39.

I had told myself that after this 3rd IUI we would move onto to IVF but we had some timing issues on this one and DH's count wasn't as good as usual. Since this IUI had "complications/issues" I am wondering if we should do another one.

I am also thinking about seeing another RE since this is not the first time that I Od before the IUI. And I just feel they don't give me a lot of info or want to answer my questions at my current office. I have actually scheduled an appointment with another RE but it will likely be too late in my next cycle to actually be treated there for the cycle. (I am also realizing/getting more concerned that the time committment to go to this other RE is going to be significant, since it is 1 - 1.5 hours away depending on traffic.)

(I guess in my ideal world if I was going to switch drs. I would do one IUI with them next cycle and then move to IVF if it didn't work with them. But since I may not make it to see them in time, I am even more indecisive.)

I am concerned about the cost of IVF and want to make every effort before moving to that. On the other hand, I don't want to waste time. I would appreciate your experiences or advice. Thanks ladies!

OMG does anyone else break out from the progesterone supps? It is wrecking my skin (which was already not the greatest) to be on and off this in two-week cycles for months.

@bluestripedbee that is really hard :( -- my best friend just found out she is pg and they were not even trying, she was only off the pill 1 month and i find it hard sometimes not to be so envious of her and struggle with feeling like i'm being a terrible friend. it is so tough to separate your feelings sometimes, especially in a situation like this

@bluestriped bee: I know. It doesn't seem fair that everyone else gets to all the names first. But it's also possible that you could get pregnant or meet your adopted child and realize that no way in heck is that child meant to be a Lana! DH and I asked our parents about the other names they chose for us (especially if we were the opposite sex) and we were laughing so hard because those names were clearly meant for some other person. What is meant to happen will happen

@spaniellove: Yeah, I think that's why I'm leaning towards sucking it up and keeping my mouth shut. I can tell my friend is already worried about being a mother and she needs my support. Instead of letting my IF speak, I should probably wait til we are closer to adopting or getting pregnant.

You are right, maybe if she has a daughter, it will change our view on the name and maybe we won't want to have the same name as one of our friends. It's just, the DH and I were finding no names that we could agree on and that name was something DH brought up and I liked and agreed on. I think what gets me is that how unfair IF is. If only...

@bluestriped bee: I don't know if this will give you some insight, but I've been reflecting on your situation for a while. And I remembered that years ago, my now-SIL and I were throwing baby name ideas at each other. It turned out that there was a girl name she absolutely had to have, and there was a girl name I liked because it was Korean but soft enough that anyone could read and say it. Personally I didn't care at all that they sounded similar, but my MIL came to me and said I couldn't use my name because it was important that her daughter get her name. Whoooaa. Years later I've completely moved on from that name, but she is still stuck on hers, and I haven't forgotten how rude they were to me.

In the end I think it's possible that when you have a LO of your own you will know if that name is still as meaningful to you (in which case you'll figure out what to do) or if you've moved on, but the way it's handled will stick with you forever.

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? On a TTC break, holding steady at 15 months of TTC.

What are your plans for this cycle? Continue enjoying my TTC break.

How is your attitude/outlook? At the moment, feeling hopeful that I will be a mom this time next year by adoption or fertility treatments. I've been thinking a lot about the idea of adopting.

What have you struggled with most this week? My really good friend is pregnant and due this month. Which I'm happy and excited for but I just found out that if she has a daughter, she's going to name her our #1 girl name, Lana. :( :( (I didn't think it was that popular so I thought we were safe.) Trying to get past the sadness because I really want to be supportive for her. I'm hoping she has a boy but the chance of her having a girl saddens me. Plus I feel like a crappy friend for having these thoughts. I haven't spoken to her since finding out the two names. I don't want to bring it up because I'm not pregnant so I have no right to call dibs on a name but she's a good friend I feel like I should tell her. But then I don't want to make her feel bad in anyway. Think I just have to suck it up and hope that it's a boy and brace myself if it's a girl. Maybe we can talk about it and see if she will be bothered if we use that name in the future. She knows I have IF so I hope she is understanding. :/

What is your diagnosis? Me: all tests are normal; DH: history of low morphology.

What are you doing for the 4th of July? Don't know.

I'm back from vacation! We unfortunately didn't come home with a little souvenir so its looks like we are starting IVF soon :( Oh well, at least we had a wonderful trip!

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? Since January 2012

What are your plans for this cycle? Not really sure yet. I am on CD 2 and have a date with the vag cam at the IVF clinic tomorrow. We have an appointment with the scheduling nurse today to go over the timeline of IVF. So we could be starting this whole IVF thing really soon.

How is your attitude/outlook? A little disappointed at the moment. I really was hoping that we would have a vacation baby. I also can't believe that we are starting IVF soon. We had talked about the possibility of doing IVF, but it's hard to accept that we are actually here. I feel like I am just going through the motions of it right now and eventually it will hit me.

What have you struggled with most this week? The emotional rollercoaster of IF. I started off being hopeful that this would be the month and then suffered the disappointment. For the past 6 months I had learned how to not get so hopeful and disappointed, but I forgot all of that this month.

What is your diagnosis? MFI - low motility.

What are you doing for the 4th of July? Not really sure yet. We may just end up BBQ just the two of us. I am still jet lagged and don't really feel up to much.

@just_ju: we're HSG twins! Mine's on Wednesday. Good luck on yours :) And hang in there on the Metformin-I was on it for about two years, and the side effects are gross. Have you tried it with yogurt or applesauce? That helped me to stomach mine. But I knew that if I ate something really fatty, there was no saving what would become of my stomach. Yuck! I hope that your symptoms dissipate with it soon-mine got less severe over time.

@ineebee: glad the move went well! I'm really sorry about the IUIs and waiting to start IVF, though. Are you thinking you're going to have to wait for another year and a half from now? That sounds awful.

I'm really late joining this week, but here's the scoop:

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? Since Sept 2012
What are your plans for this cycle? Baseline ultrasound sometime this week, checking the HSG off my "tried it" list, Clomid+Follistim, continuing Metformin
How is your attitude/outlook? Nervous, but excited. Nervous because of the upcoming HSG (probably the week of the 8th), excited that I started spotting and didn't have to use Provera this cycle
What have you struggled with most this week? The Metformin side effects have been pretty bad - ugh.
What is your diagnosis? PCOS
What are you doing for the 4th of July? A friend mentioned inviting us over to grill out and watch fireworks on the 3rd (our town picnic and fireworks are always held on the 3rd). We might have my in-laws over on the 4th - nice and low-key

Hello, ladies. If I hear of a friend's BFP on her first try any time in the near future, I think I would explode! Kudos to you @shutterbug and @thereeldeal for keeping your heads up high.

Also, we're all settled into our new city! I've missed your support and I've needed it. Here's why...

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? 20 months.
What are your plans for this cycle? In the middle of a non-treatment cycle as we adjust to our new city. Next cycle, I'm praying for our first IVF, but logistically I don't know if it'll be possible. Meeting with my new RE tomorrow, so we'll see how flexible monitoring appointment times at this clinic will be. Crossing my fingers.
How is your attitude/outlook? Pretty dismal. Because of insurance plan changes in the fall and treatment also unlikely until then, I'm bracing myself for not being able to do anything for a frikkin year and a half.
What have you struggled with most this week? See above. It sucks. I don't understand how this happened... I really believed that one of the IUIs would take.
What is your diagnosis? PCOS and general suckiness.
What are you doing for the 4th of July? A short semi-vacation to San Francisco. It'll be my first time, so that'll be nice.

@Mrs.Someone, @Shutterbug: My friend told me she was knocked up this week too. This sounds like a good time to have a pity party

@LovelyPlum: Thanks! I'm cautiously optimistic. Not being bitter is truly hard, but in the end you'll only feel bad that you were.

Whelp, my BFF just called me... she's pregnant on her first try. I actually wasn't as sad as I thought I would be - I'm very excited for her. Still sucks though.

@spaniellove: OMG, that must have been uncomfortable for him! When you are happily on the other side of IF, I think you should write a (semi-comedy) book of all the crazy things you've been through at these clinics.

As for me... Another day, another new pregnancy (for someone else) :P Some silly part of me was thinking that these things come in threes, and I knew of two (hoping I would be #3). Maybe they come in fives? (Hoping for a friend too)

@spaniellove: Hopeful about your IUI today but sorry for the electrical closet and motility results for your DH.

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? Since January 2012

What are your plans for this cycle? Currently in TWW from injectibles (Menopur) and IUI

How is your attitude/outlook? Trying not to obsess

What have you struggled with most this week? I had already released my eggs on my own when I went for monitoring on Monday, so we did IUI that day and again on Tuesday since DHs numbers weren't as good as usual on Monday (he was sick with a fever). I just worry that combination of those factors may hurt us this cycle.

What is your diagnosis? Inconsistent ovulation, hypothyroid, low estrogen....

What are you doing for the 4th of July? No specific plans. We'll probably just stay home.
