We dropped our dream feed around 7-8 mo if I recall correctly and we'd been doing it since very early on. We did the same as @gingerbebe, fewer ounces and slightly earlier every few days. Worked like a charm and didn't see any changes in sleep. Good luck!

We've been doing a dreamfeed before DH and I go to bed for as long as I can remember, like basically since DD was born pretty much. She's 8 months and I don't see us stopping anytime. I love that time with her all snuggly and content. She STTN every night until 6-7am.

We started at about five months, and kept it up until probably 8 months? And even then it wasn't that it stopped working, it was just that I figured he didn't need it anymore.

We were bottlefeeding the dreamfeed, so if you're nursing, you can just do fewer minutes, or at some point the baby isn't interested in nursing bc they are too sleepy.

My son did dreamfeeds for a short time - we started at like 12 weeks and went until 4.5 months? We gradually pushed the dreamfeed earlier and with less ounces - so 1030pm with 4oz, then 10pm, then 930pm with 3oz, 9pm with 3oz, then dropped (bc last feeding was at 7-730pm). At each point, we would see if he slept through. If he did, we stuck with the new time/amount. If he woke early, we went back to the old amount and tried again a few days later. Eventually he just slept through after his bedtime feed.

I can't remember the exact age, but when we got the okay from our pediatrician to train her to sttn we started pushing the dream feed a little later every few nights until we dropped it completely.

Edited to add: I added in a pumping session before bed for a while but eventually dropped that and allowed my supply to adjust.

We started dream feeds early... maybe like 2 months? Or even 6 weeks? It was awesome. I EP'd, so I could count his ounces consumed... once he increased the amount he drank during the day, I cut out the dream feed. It was pretty easy. (And I think around when we started solids too)

I just started trying a dream feed for DS2 who is 5 1/2 mo this week. Previously, he was going to bed at 7 and waking at 1:30 am and 5am to eat and then would sleep until 7. I tried a dream feed when I went to be around 10 pm and he slept until 6 am. This works out perfectly for me since that's when I need to get up anyways to get ready for work. And then he goes back to sleep for another hour. This is the first time in a very long time that I've gotten 6+ hours of continuous sleep so I'm thinking that we're going to keep this up.

My question to those who have had success doing a dream feed, how long did it work for you and how did you know when to stop? My only concern is that I used to pump before bed to cover any shortage from what I pumped during the day and then anything else would grow my freezer stash. I'm bummed not to be adding to it right now but it's so much better feeding a sleepy, cuddly baby rather than attaching to the pump!
