Sometimes for months on end (it was ridiculous). More recently, before my medicated cycles, I did spot a couple days before AF. Did an hsg and then got pregnant that cycle. Lost baby at 9 weeks, about 6 months after I lost the baby, did 3 cycles of clomid plus iui. Then waited like 2-3 months before starting on ivf. I was always very regular for period, but I would always spot a few days before. Not a lot, but enough to warn me of my impending af. I guess I'd have to request my records to see what exactly they did. But I don't remember them ever testing my hormones except for when I was doing the ivf. I know they measured all my follicles when I was on clomid, but they didn't do anything like that before clomid. Maybe they just wanted to get as much money from me and just start me on all the protocols.... I mean, I'm forever grateful to them since I have my babies....
