I was living &amp; working in another country, but had to leave due to political instability. I started to work in a new country. I went on vacation, and the hotel I was staying in burned to the ground. I made it out fine, but none of my things did (i was in pajamas, no shoes, ha!), including my passport/wallet/etc. I managed to scramble enough money to get home, and the next day went down to the corner store and asked the owner if she could please give me some things on credit. You still want to go bowling?" For some reason I said, "Sure, why not?"
