So, this past few weeks, we were home and it was hot and humid. I made the decision to keep my son indoors between noon and 2, because there was really no shade and he basically wilts in that kind of heat. He would complain of having a headache and was very warm to the touch.

We spend time outside in the early morning and then from about 3 until bedtime.

90s isn't a problem, but it's when it was getting to 110 last summer in our old city that had me inside constantly (and a major reason we moved!)

We're in Texas. Surprisingly theres no state rules for daycare about heat. My daycare doesn't let them outside if the heat index is over 101.
We play outside in the 90s regularly - probably for up to 45 min at a time, but we always make sure to have water on hand.

We spend a couple of months a year with a heat index over 100 (Houston also). We take walks or play in the yard in the morning or evening, but we don't do many parks since the equipment is so hot! We go to a pool or splashpad about 3 times a week too. So basically we have less outside time, but still have time outside more days than not.

At our daycare they don't go out when the heat index is above 95. If it was 90 they would pretty much never go outside in July or August.

I was just thinking about this! We live in Houston and with the heat index it's been 100+ on most days. We don't spend a lot of time outside, but even after a car ride, Ezra is dripping in sweat! I feel so bad for him in his car seat. He is still a little too young to enjoy parks and playgrounds (he is 9mo) but I used to take walks with him in the baby carrier but it's been too darn hot lately!

How much time does your LO spend outside that day? Today is supposed to be over 90, so we are spending a little time outside this morning. I have a feeling it will be unbearable later, even with the kiddie pool. Maybe just in small doses.

Is there a temperature that is too hot for your LO to play outside?
