I made the decision to keep my son indoors between noon and 2, because there was really no shade and he basically wilts in that kind of heat. Surprisingly theres no state rules for daycare about heat. We take walks or play in the yard in the morning or evening, but we don't do many parks since the equipment is so hot! We go to a pool or splashpad about 3 times a week too. We live in Houston and with the heat index it's been 100+ on most days. We don't spend a lot of time outside, but even after a car ride, Ezra is dripping in sweat! I feel so bad for him in his car seat. Today is supposed to be over 90, so we are spending a little time outside this morning. I have a feeling it will be unbearable later, even with the kiddie pool.
