I would always let them sleep in as long as we didn't have to be anywhere. I understand sticking to a schedule, but usually there is a reason they feel the need for more sleep, I'm not going to disturb that!

He doesn't seem to know the meaning of "sleep in" so I've never had to wake him up but I do start the first nap early to compensate.

I let him sleep in an extra 30 minutes and wake him up. If he wants to go down for his naps a little early that day I'm fine with that too but I aim to start and end his day at roughly the same time every day.

I'm all about waking my kid up to keep a schedule but if she had a bad night I do let her sleep in because she makes me pay for it if I don't. :)

On the days that I work in the office (3x per week) DD has to be up by 7:15 so sometimes we have to wake her up. For all of the other days, I let her sleep as late as she wants (which is usually somewhere between 7:00-8:30).

I would!!

I hate waking my kids - I WOTH and I try to let my kids wake on their own - I don't have an exact time I have to be at work so if I am an hour late I just work an hour later at night. I value sleep!

LO (14 weeks/9 weeks adjusted) didn't fall asleep until after 10:30PM last night (which has been the pattern for the last few weeks  ) But he also fussed/cried off and on from 3:40 - 6AM. Usually I wake him up by 8AM, although he typically wakes on his own before then. But it's 8:30AM and he's still asleep.

Do I let him sleep a bit longer to make up the sleep deficit? Keep in mind, he typically cries a lot during the early morning hours, so that's nothing new. But today is the first time he's slept in past 8AM on his own, and now I'm just torn... I don't have anywhere to be this morning either.

What would you do??
