At that age I was still letting her nap in the evening and putting her down for her long night stretch at 10! I stay at home though so we never woke her up in the AM.

As for your LO, it seems like you could try earlier and see what happens!

Crankiness at bedtime is what prompted us to shift bedtime earlier. You could try just going down 10-15 minutes earlier and see how she responds. Even just those few minutes made a huge difference for us.

@BKCaribBaby: At her age, I would let her sleep. But yeah, if she is making with the tired cues, it's time for a nap/bedtime. I wouldn't worry too much about her waking up early. The saying is sleep begets sleep . . . if she is overtired, she may actually sleep less than she would if she were well rested. Seems counterintuitive, but I have found it to be the truth!

@MsLipGloss: She's about 2.5 months. She had a short late afternoon nap that may have thrown her off. The hours between 5-7 always confuse me when figuring our when to let her sleep or not.

How old is your LO? I noticed that my LO's bedtime started to get earlier and earlier around 4-5 months maybe? LO is now 9 months and goes down between 6:30 and 7:00 at night.

But if she is acting tired, I wouldn't wait to put her down. :)

I usually put LO down for the night at around 8pm and start the bedtime process around 7pm. I have to admit that sometimes I wait a little so that I can start the process at 7pm. I worry about putting LO to sleep too early because I am worried that she'll wake up from he first stretch of sleep earlier. Tonight I could tell she was a little sleepy earlier than usual, but I waited to put her to bed. It might have made her even more fussy and cranky.

Does this mean I should move her bedtime earlier? How do/did you decide to change LO's bedtime?
