I haven't had anything that severe happen to LO. She just had a cold, which was the worst that's happened to her (other than reflux). But no, we don't fight because of it. I can see how something that scary would cause stress though!

I wouldn't call it fighting either but we might get more stressed out and someone might snap at the other person. But when things are more serious, like when we had to go the ER, there was no snapping because we were just too worried.

How were you supposed to know your LO would have a reaction? It's not your fault. You can label read all you want, but unless you know your LO's allergic, what can you do?
Sick babies always cause tension.. I'm always more short tempered when LO is sick because I'm super sleep deprived, worried and stressed.
Since your DH wasnt accusing you, try not to let it affect you too much..! *hugs*

Usually we do cause it starts becoming some sort of blame game. Like when my LO caught a cold recently, he blamed me for not giving him a 4th layer of clothes. Seriously? It was like 68 degrees outside and he already had 3 layers of clothes, including a thick winter jacket. I thought I put on too MANY layers. But he still finds a way to blame me whenever his precious son gets sick or injured (*rolling eyes*).

After LO had her allergic reaction on Sunday and we knew she was okay and was put to bed, hubs said to me, "You know, you should really be careful now what you give her." He meant it to mean just that - careful, reading labels, etc. *I* heard it as blame and my being careless (of course now I know that no one was at fault). Since then I've been feeling very responsible, frustrated, and tired and have been very short with the hubs.

When your LO is sick or hurt, do you *fight more?

*Hubs and I don't actually fight...It's just my creating tension and being irritable.
