After the first time, I couldn't handle going to see my friend who is a masseuse, and she was only working on my back, neck and shoulders. There is a reason doctors can't treat their own kids or spouses.....</p> <p>My best friend is a midwife, and she "practiced" pap smears, etc. on me while she was in school. Its not about the intimacy factor- that doesn't bother me. I just believe very strongly that when personal lines are mixed with provider lines, inappropriate or uncomfortable or even potentially risky situations can arise.
