I would avoid a December baby - I know for me all my friends and family have every weekend booked in Dec with holiday gatherings - I feel like it would be impossible to schedule a party! Plus a week or two later - Christmas and MORE gifts - ugh!

I had a Sept baby (yes he missed the cut-off) but it was still warm enough that we walked a lt during my maternity leave.

DD was a March baby and that was nice too - cold when we brought her home but then spring was right around the corner!

We are about to have an October baby and I don't mind the school cut off thing- oldest is good in my book and on top of that, so many people here red shirt anyway that she is not likely to be in the top quarter of ages not the absolute oldest.

I am, however, worried about having a baby and then by the time I am recovered enough to be out and about it will be cold and soon thereafter gross and slushy out. Having a tiny baby in gross weather sounds daunting to me but I guess one way or another baby has to go through a first winter... Part of me just feels like it would be easier to have a while to find our groove before dealing with the doldrums of winter.

We timed the start of TTC so that we would have a lot of months of trying before we'd end up with a Nov/Dec baby. I wouldn't want to have a birthday around all of the holiday craziness so I hoped to avoid it for my kids too.

We're having a June baby. :)

We have an early september baby (still summer) and an end of October baby (starting to get winter-like!). I don't see a difference, other than one can have an outdoor party and one has to have an indoor party... Are you worried about birthdays coinciding with holidays, you mean?

I have a cousin and an aunt with December birthdays. My dad is a NYE baby. My MIL is two day's after xmas, and my FIL is just after New Years. Growing up, this was just another reason to eat cake :)

I have a son with a Decemeber birthday. School cut off aside, I originally thought December was a terrible month for a birthday, but now, I've come to realize that it will allow my son to celebrate with his extended family every other year, as we visit for the holidays.

So, while it's not ideal that we can't be outside and we have all these other scheduling conflicts with the holidays, it is totally fine. If I changed it, I wouldn't have my son, so......

I would prefer a baby before September but I won't take a break for a Jan + baby if I want to get pregnant. LO 1 is a December baby.

would you want/care about having a later in the year baby (Oct-Dec)?

I am wafting about when to start TTC number 3. I already have 2 June babies and my town doesnt have a cut off (the cut off is Dec 31st same as it was when I was growing up)

For my first 2 babies I worked and timed their births (luckily it worked) to coincide with it (think a teachers schedule). I SAH now so there is no restraint on months this time. I know I dont want another June baby (hectic enough with 2) and I kinda wanted some distance between their birthdays.

I had originally thought Oct would be nice but realize that means starting in Jan and besides being a little worried about going into long winter months trapped inside with 3 kids for the long winter Im also not sure I ever want to start trying again that soon.

Ideally I was thinking of trying after my daughter turned 2 in June meaning a March baby but I realize that means I need to accept their birthdays are going to be closer to my June babies as well as that means I wont have a late in the year baby. I dont know why but I kinda want a late year baby despite a lot of the negatives (cold months, holidays, cutt offs for some people etc)

Did you like your babies end of the year birthday?
