We ate out way too much when DS was born! The only thing I would be careful about is if she's breastfeeding. Try to be conscious of that and not bring something loaded with veggies that might give a baby gas! And for the 2.5 year old...definitely art supplies, book to read or an age appropriate activity book. Thank goodness DH can cook! And as far as something for the 2.5 year old, I would say it would be appropriate. After all, with a new baby getting all these things from people, maybe he/she is feeling a little left out. Was thinking about this a week ago while getting stuff for Henry's first birthday party. My baby cousin (nearly 4) is coming and he's an only child. He's been the baby of the family for so long, he has a hard time sharing the limelight (it'll be interesting to see how he takes the birth of this next LO!). So I'm making him a little good bag since he'll be the only kid at the party. That way he doesn't feel left out and perhaps he won't act out.
