Depends. The majority of our fruit and veggies come from our CSA deliveries, so those are all local and organic. If I'm cooking for crowd, then I'll buy regular if it's significantly cheaper.

I would buy all organic produce if I could afford it, but since I can't, I buy organic if it is on the Dirty Dozen list, and "regular" everything else unless it is on sale.

Sometimes, but not always. I'm pretty cheap, so I do factor in cost with what I buy. I do try to buy what is in season since it is cheaper. I also shop at a small grocery that sells organic stuff cheaper than the regular grocery store.

I stick to the dirty dozen list to save on costs. If it's not on that list then I usually buy whatever's available. Costco has a few organic items that I love - in particular chicken, grass fed ground beef and spinach.

No, I don't think I've ever seen an organic section in my neighborhood market. The larger ones do, but it's only veggies and there's not much of a selection. But even if we had tons of organic food, I wouldn't buy it unless it was cheaper than the regular stuff =P

No, I’ll always select locally grown over organic. Being certified “organic” is costly and big business, and I’d rather buy from a farm that can’t afford to get certified as organic, or uses minimal pesticides than imported organic produce. A couple of our grocery stores (not Whole Foods) tries to stock local produce year round, and the rest can be bought at the farmers market or thru a CSA or roadside stand at the farm itself.

I usually do but not without a "omg, this is so expensive" thought in my head. I usually shop at Whole Foods for the organic stuff so while I"m there, I end up getting at least a few things for the DH's and my dinner for the week as well. But man, it is expensive.

Nope. Organic doesn't mean that much to me, especially after reading what the rules are that make things organic. I do like shopping (and will pay more) for farmer's market stuff and I'm hoping to have a veggie garden this year.

I used to cave at the grocery store and just buy the conventional fruits and veggies because the price difference was crazy. But when I got pregnant, I started carrying the dirty dozen list with me in my wallet, and I follow that. So stuff like potatoes, berries, carrots, etc. I buy organic.

Yes, I usually do if it is something the LO eats. If it is just me, then I'll go for non-organic sometimes -- depends on whether or not I feel like shelling out more dough that day! But it is crazy, I just bought a teeny container of organic blueberries for the LO: $4.99. Crazy!
