We have one infant car seat and two bases. I always carry her inside in the car seat and then drop it in the storage area. If all the babies were left with seats it would take up too much room. They also would not remove or put our child in the seat. So we had to remove her when we arrived and then put the seat back in our car. Thus two seats. Our daycare allows, but does not encourages, leaving the seat. We didn't go the convertible route because the infant seats fit better in our vehicles. I personally would not want to leave the seat. I hadn't even thought about the convenience of leaving a sleeping baby in a car seat and what that would mean for day care drop off/pick up. </p> <p>If you can't leave baby in it's carrier, did you forgo the infant seat for a convertible? Did you get two infant carriers if different people did drop off/pick up? </p> <p>I always figured we'd get a carrier and two bases, but it doesn't seem like that will work if we can't leave the seat with the kid. </p>
