I had been searching since mid January but I was really picky. The whole process of talking to recruiters, screening and interviewing took a lot of time and energy. It was a full time job. I definitely needed childcare and wouldn't have been able to do it while also watching my LO. </p> <p>If you think you will be in high demand, I suggest trying to bunch your interviews together to force a multiple offer situation. I did this and it worked out well for me and made negotiations really easy.</p> <p>I start my new position next month! Eek! I finished grad school a year ago and am still looking for full-time work in my field, or anything even vaguely related to it. I have a part-time job at least, but I feel like I've aged a lot in the past year and have been pretty depressed. At this point Ive lost track of the number of jobs Ive applied to and Interviewed for. That being said, I also moved to a new city where I didn't have any sort of network. I've been trying to be more proactive and attend networking events and whatnot, but I'm an awkward person who is terrible at things like small talk and cocktail parties, especially when I don't know a soul.
