We're almost at 14 months, and i do enjoy it. She is so happy afterwards, and i enjoy the cuddle time. The sessions have shortened quite a bit, so it's for maybe 10-15 minutes tops. 2x during the week, and 3x on the weekends.

But, i also feel the same way about being the only one to put her down for naps/night sleep.

We're at almost 14 months & still nursing lots... I don't foresee us stopping any time soon! I don't always "love" it but I don't dislike it... P's been pretty attached to me lately all around so sometimes I get a bit touched out but I think it may be an approaching WW.. once that passes, hopefully she'll get back to herself & I'll be back to fully enjoying the snuggles!

I was happy for the most part with it but I did start to want her to ask for it less frequently as she got older. She wouldn't nurse when we were out and about but if we were at home she'd ask to nurse a lot. For night time my husband started putting her to sleep so she'd get used to not being nursed. She was a horrible teether so nursing helped a lot to get her to sleep and ease her pain. Maybe we would have found a substitute if I had weaned already but I tried a lot of the teething remedies and nothing worked well for her but nursing.

My 12 month old is nursing just 1-2 times a day now. I love our morning session and don't plan to cut it out until she drops it herself. She dropped the other sessions by herself, and she gets pumped milk in a bottle at night so DH can get his cuddles in. It's a bit sad that she doesn't need me anymore, but I'm glad the weaning process hasn't been a struggle thus far.

@MungBean: DS is 14 months old and still nursing frequently. Sometimes I wish I could cuddle in bed with him without him signing to nurse right away but more often than not I appreciate the cuddles. When people ask me how long I plan on nursing I say until we're done, lol. La Leche League advocates nursing until it is no longer a mutually beneficial relationship for mother and child and that's how I look at it. When I start resenting or disliking nursing him I'll consider weaning, until then I'll keep going.

Im still nursing my 15 month old several times a day and so far, it doesn't look like she plans on weaning herself anytime soon. About 90% of the time, I'm happy with it - love the extended cuddles (ESP since she is super active and not a huge snuggler!), the fact that I can calm and soothe her instantly, etc.

However, it does make some things difficult- I'm the only one who can put her to sleep, she's veeeeery attached to me which makes it hard to get anything done, and vacations where we have to co sleep are tough bc if we lie down together, she just wants to nurse constantly.

What about you?
