First pregnancy I knew on 9 dpo because I was so fatigued. It was super obvious. Second pregnancy I didn't know, and ended up miscarrying. Third pregnancy I suspected because I had cramping on 7 and 8 dpo.
I never noticed much of a difference in my temps, aside from them not dropping!

I had heartburn, headaches, frequent urination, backaches, and nausea. Frequent urination is normal for me leading up to AF, but I never get headaches or heartburn...not even when pregnant! For #1 I had a "perfect" cycle though and I need I was pregnant because I didn't get AF by 7am on CD28. I was right!

Now my cycles range from 26-29 days and temping isn't reliable when you don't sleep for more than 3 hours at a time or cannot temp at the same time every day. I'm just relying on CM and OPKs this time around.

If I'm remembering correctly, I got a triphasic chart like @Adira: for my BFP (but not any other month).

@Veggiemama: I just felt it later on so must have been implantation?? I did not feel those the other 2 cycles during TTC

@Adira: Oh wow, that's really helpful, thanks for sharing your charts!

@snowjewelz: Did you feel the pinching just at implantation or throughout the TWW?

@thismustbetheplace: @mediagirl: Interesting, I have noticed that I have some changes in CM right before AF that got my hopes up initially before I noticed the pattern.

@PawPrints: That's probably true! It seems like 12 DPO is pretty reliable for getting a true positive.

With my first I had no idea about testing early or looking for symptoms so I just tested after my period was due. I felt fine for another week or so then morning sickness came on all at once! With my second I was breastfeeding and had irregular periods so I didn't think anything of missing a period. Then one day I got super, super hungry and my husband encouraged me to test, turns out I was already 8 weeks!

No symptoms before my BFPs. I really feel like, given how sensitive HPTs are these days, you can get a BFP before it's really even possible to have pregnancy symptoms. I got my BFPs around 11-12 DPO, and didn't start feeling any symptoms for at least a week after that.

@thismustbetheplace: yes, this is exactly what I noted in my FF chart. I had a lot of gross discharge at 21dpo. It's funny looking back on that. I noted that item and then at 24dpo I noted that I woke up sweating and drenched in sweat even though it was a cool night. :silly:

@Veggiemama: My temps started going up again around 9-10 DPO. Here's an example of a BFN chart and a BFP chart for me.

*Maybe TMI?*

One of the tell-tale signs for me (both times) was that instead of becoming increasingly more 'dry' towards the end of the cycle, my body instead continued producing more creamy/watery CM *after* ovulation. A lot of people don't track it and wouldn't notice!

@Veggiemama: I think the only symptom I had with my BFP was the pinching sensations that I've never ever felt otherwise..

@Adira: Can I asked when you were sure your chart was triphasic and what day DPO you had a temp jump? A couple of months I have had some higher temps starting around 8 DPO but then they drop by 13-14 DPO, so disappointing!

@snowjewelz: Ha, I am wondering if all of my typical symptoms will go away and that's how I'll know?

@LovelyPlum: I seriously have that thread bookmarked and consult it daily during the TWW! I was blissfully unaware of any of this during my first two pregnancies so I don't have anything to compare to previous BFPs.

For me, I got super dark nipple around 5 DPO, then intense nausea by 10 DPO, cramping and twinges at 11 DPO, and a BFP by 13 DPO. I also was crazy sensitive to smells and very easily tired. I was pretty sure early on, but I tried to ignore it, because I didn't want to be wrong!!

The only noticeable difference for me was that for both my pregnancies, I had a triphasic chart, which I didn't have on any of my BFN charts. But symptoms-wise, there was no difference.

Did you notice anything different during the TWW for your BFP? I have been temping, using OPK's and tracking CM for a few months while TTC and feel like I know my cycle backwards and forwards. It turns out that many early pregnancy signs (sore breasts, nausea, cramping, increased sense of smell etc.) are just post-ovulatory and PMS symptoms for me.

So if you were in a similar situation, were your symptoms different during your TWW? Was anything noticeably absent or present the cycle you conceived?
