they lasted us really well until 15 months, but then i had fit issues and leaking. we took a break because i was going crazy and now she's pretty much potty trained at almost 24 months. i could have pushed through with them but we traveled so much, it wasn't worth it. now i know some of the issues for next kiddo, i have better tools up my sleeve!

We use BGs and DSis inly29 months and pretty much outgrown them. He was 33.5lbs at his 2 year and we've continued to use them but not nearly as much due to leaks. I'm sure he's at least 35/36lbs now and nowhere near ready t potty train.

Our BG 4.0's lasted until potty training at 27m and for overnight wear for another 6ish months. Honestly I think I could still get one on my almost 4 year old bc of how long and skinny he is! He's 36-38ish lbs.

@pui: one thing to keep in mind is that even if the size works, you may have to start changing more often because of the amount they pee. My 18mo daughter is on the smaller side (between 10-20th percentile), and we use BumGenius AIO on her. They still fit her fine, but if we dare go just 15 min more than 2 hours w/o changing her, the diaper will leak.

Just to update my DD was weighed today and was 16lbs 4oz, so still below the 18lb estimate for the size 1s! Her thighs are super chunky though lol.

@pui: size 3 is probably more for kids with special needs that take longer to potty train.

I am using bum genius one size diapers and they are great for my 2.5 year old at 32 pounds. He only wears them at night time.

DS is almost 2, is 30 pounds, and 3' tall. We have bumgenius and rumparooz and he's on the largest setting, but still has plenty of room in them. I doubt he will outgrow them before potty training.

@sandy: For the moment, my DD is under the 10th percentile, so it looks like we have a long way to go before outgrowing mediums! I kind of hope she will get some wear out of the larges though, especially since I bought some pink ones months ago when I saw them on super sale! :silly:

@lamariniere: if she's petite I'm sure you'll be able to make the mediums work until she's 2 or very close to 2. My LO has always been around 70-80th percentile on the growth charts so she's not tiny and we were able to keep her in mediums until a week past her 2nd birthday when we decided to try potty training. they were kind of looking small for her but no leaks or anything even overnight. I kind of wanted to keep her in them for naps and nighttime bc they worked so well but I started using pull ups and called them "night night underwear" so we could keep the potty training process moving along.

@lamariniere: we used gdiapers too and loved them!

My LO was not a tiny baby so we started in the size small gdiaper and she was in those for a few months. We moved pretty quickly to the size medium and stayed in them until she was potty trained (right after she turned 2). I think she was about 25lbs at that time. They were a pretty tight fit but they worked great. I love gdiapers so much!

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, I didn't use Applecheeks with my first so I'm not sure how long they will fit. I think also it depends on the shape of the child. My DS is growing out of size 1's because he's got some thighs!

@Mrs. Lion: The AppleCheeks size 1s were supposed to fit 7lbs-18lbs. DD was 8lbs 2oz when she was born and fit the size 1s at 5 days old not snapped all the way on the bottom snap, so so far their weight estimates seem pretty accurate to me.

We use one size rumparooz and lo has been in them since he was 4 months old (about 14lbs) and at 22 months and 22 lbs he is still in the medium size. We still have plenty of room to grow into them, and he will hopefully be potty trained long before he outgrows them. They are advertised as being small enough for a 6lb newborn, so we will see how that goes when this baby gets here in a few weeks. They are supposed to go to 35lbs. I have read lots of reviews where people complain that their babies dont fit in them, but I have also read reviews that say that people who complain about this just aren't putting them on right, which seems more plausable to me. I don't know about 35lbs, but lo could easily put on 10 more pounds and still fit in them. We have only had to change the snap settings once from 14-22 lbs.
