Can you believe that I cook and hand wash the dishes? I cook more often now that LO eats three full meals a day, and the pots, pans, and dishes pile up quickly. DH has a problem with his one finger, and he has to keep it dry. Of course he could just wear gloves. Hmm...

Not always.. I always thought that was a fair rule but never implemented it. Some days I just get so tired that I don't want to do either! We do take turns but with him working nights I often end up doing both.

yep we do the trade off, though even if 1 cooks, we both often pitch in to help clean up, put things away. on those days when DH does the clean up, while 90% of the dishes are put away or washed, I still find there's always things he left behind or not put away, so I still have to do a clean-up after him. but i accept that, since he's very handy around the house and does all of the outside maintenance.

one thing i'm very grateful for is my husband almost always loads and unloads the dishwasher. every now and then if it needs to be done and i'm home i will do it but he usually beats me to it!

I do most of the cooking - so it is a good trade!

We DO, but when I cook up I clean as I go so the only thing left after dinner is dishes. When DH cooks he leaves everything all over the kitchen, so I have to clean up from his prep work, put all the condiments away, THEN i can get to the dishes. It kind of drives me nuts.

We don't really wash dishes often...but we do rinse them and make a huge pile in the sink before finally loading the dishwasher! We don't have a system for trading off chores, we just kind of see what happens. A lot of times we each rinse our own dishes, and I usually clean up while I'm cooking.

I do it all......but DH is good at rinsing his plate down pretty well and cup so really all I do is stick them in the dishwasher and wipe the table down. I am the type that cleans all the pots and pans I used before dinner. I keep a clean kitchen as I go because I am usually in a food coma after I eat!

Whenever I've got enough energy and motivation to cook, it usually results in another energy boost after eating to clean up, do all the dishes, and pack Wagon Jr.'s lunch. By the time I'm done, Wagons Sr. and Jr. are usually done eating at that time.

When I cook, I clean up and when he cooks, he cleans up, haha. I tend to make way more of a mess when I'm cooking than he does, so it would be mean if I made him clean up after me, haha.

I looooove cooking.... I would rarely let DH cook. We just have a dishes roster so he has his set nights to clean up and I have mine. When I'm a sahm and I have the luxury of a dishwasher I'm sure that will change :-)
