My biggest advice is - you can never spoil your newborn enough by holding, hugging and kissing on them. They need it just as much as you do. Baby will learn how to eat, sleep, self sooth all in time sometimes because of what we do and sometimes in spite of what we do. Except breastfeeding, make sure you both can do everything for the baby - diapers, playing, bathing, bottles if you use them. As long as it's not life-threatening, don't hover or second-guess your partner's way of doing things.
