I actually felt similar after the birth of my first. I'm thankful in that I do remember the moment he was born but it was a traumatic birth (home birth turned transport to hospital) so I was soooo exhausted and slept through much of his first few days -- only waking to nurse. I loved pregnancy and giving birth. But it also gave me a new appreciation and awe of surrogates and birth mothers, because I had a pretty easy time of it and it was still really hard. </p> <p>But I'm with you two, I have never experienced anything as amazing as giving birth and the rush afterwards. I had severe pre-e and was on a cocktail of drugs - and one of them made me feel like I wasn't even present, oh but I was feeling the pain every second. So I barely remember the moment he was born and I was so out of it I couldn't "live" it.
